air leak consistent
2014 bmw 435i manual, 50k miles.
changed the stock charge pipe about 10 months ago to VRSF, kept the OEM TMAP sensor. a month ago I got a CEL 118001, 118002 and 102001. possible air leak but I took it to a few shops for diag, 2 shops said sensor main MAF sensor. I changed it to a new one, same error. Shops said they will not do a smoke test until I pay them their crazy price for MAF. New sensor did not do much, CEL still exists. Car does not feel like its losing power and it seems like its picking up as normal but the CEL is still there. Shops said the VRSF is not a good pipe and that the OEM plastic one is better and I should change it back to it. The only options I can think now is either the TMAP sensor on the charge pipe or maybe an air leak on the valve cover gasket? Valve cover gasket was changed 6 months ago. I took the TMAP sensor out and cleand with MAF cleaner same issue. any suggestions? |

So I changed the main MAF sensor with a new one from FCP euro. CEL was still on. took it back to one of the shops and $500 later they fixed the issue. Not sure what the scammer did but he said he changed the MAF and that was all. Strange how my FCP euro part didnt work. Guess FCPEuro is trash after all

Probably cleared error codes in 30 seconds and the CEL went away. Sometimes CEL's take a few trips to clear if you don't manually do it.
