Drove the crap out of it - enjoyed my midpipe - MP tune and a little E85 in the tank - great drive on PCH especially when I showed the new C43 who was boss (an easy kill - immature - unnecessary- but oh so much fun)

Can you explain exactly what went bad?
The flapper on wastegate was rattling. The car sounded and drove fine, it only rattled for a second as the rpm would drop below a couple hundred in ECO mode only. Sport and comfort no sound.

Spoke to SA and SM and they agreed to replace the turbo.

How did you align/fix the headlight beams? Think mine are aimed too low. I know where to go to move the beam height. But not sure how high to aim them don't want to blind people. But want to be able to see. I think I have to move mine left and right too

I actually followed this:
from Kies Motorsports. I used a couple boxes as my background as I didn't have a wall!

Looks great!! I'd like to do the same over the winter. Not sure if I should just buy F80 parts or go with a 3rd party. Which company did you use? Turn around time and cost? Thx

Snow tire/wheel package came from Tire Rack last night. Unpacked them today and cleaned and sealed the wheels. Waiting for center caps now and the temperature to fall so I can install them.

No msport brakes. So i went 17.

$1333.24. 17” square setup. Rial X10. Yokohama winter tires. Tpms. I have bmw center caps coming tomorrow for it. The Rials are 68mm center caps so they will fit. Also reuses lugnuts and no need for centering rings. I had 16” Rial Salernos as a winter setup on my ‘06 325xi and ‘09 328

I’m actually liking the way these look. I might try an 18” summer setup this spring, maybe even a staggered setup. I will wait till I put them on the car and try it for awhile. Then again, I have the 400m wheels with new runflats that would just sit in storage if I do.

Not sure how 19s would fare with our bad roads.

Hey, I just ordered the same RIAL x10 in 18" (I have M-Sport brakes) and some Sottozero 3 tires from TireRack last week! About $1500 with TPMS included.

I put one on to make sure TPMS was working and it does (have to do a reset).

They are certainly not BMW OEM wheels, but for winter months they will do the job.

I paid about half the price of OEM all in for the main 7 trim pieces and the shifter and surround. I did it with someone local who's done work for dealerships (BMW, Ferrari, etc.) previously and used to do it for a living. Turnaround time was 2 weeks. Up to you which method you go for, OEM is significantly more expensive but it'll be the OEM look and more consistent quality. However I paid half the price of OEM and looks very close to it, and it's great quality work overall so I'm happy.

Aftermarket center caps came in. You can tell they’re not OEM but for winter wheels, it will do. I picked the cf look when I ordered them.

Nice bright white reverse lights installed + coded...look much better and actually safer/helpful when backing up. Those yellow OEM ones were useless...

What did you use? Any coding needed? does it help with the camera - especially on AW! Thanks.

I settled on these because they're CREE/canbus ready & low power/temperature, but any 1156 LEDs should work. I did code out the flickering using Bimmercode. They work installed with no errors, but they will flicker at engine startup if you don't code them (the flicker is from the car sending current to test the bulbs). It definitely helps the backup camera in dark environments and I'm more comfortable pulling out of parking garages.

Thanks, ok, makes sense. I hear the reflection off the white bumper causes the camera to have issues. Good to hear this improves it.
