The moon tonight
Was on my way home from the shops when I noticed the moon - looked bigger and clearer than I ever remember in London so grabbed my 200mm lens and got some snaps (combined with separate shot of stars)
Now I'm tempted to get a 2x extender to see how much detail I can get

Cracking shot! Which lens do you have winther? I have an old nikon 80-200 which does a constant f2.8 so nice and bright - it's also built like a tank!
I have a 2x extender and although it works well, I did have to use a tripod for longer exposures. |

Did this one handheld as the shutter was relatively high to avoid overexposure. Also, it's amazing how quickly the moon moves in the frame once you follow it. I suspect a long exposure will give a blurry result
