hi current I have 2014 428i CIC High with L7 6.5 screen, I don't have navigation Im going to install MMI from Carlinkit and I'm wondering if I can just upgrade a 8.8 inch screen? as MMI has a dip switch number 3 which can select on for 8.8/10.2 inch or off for 6.5inch, anyone have tried? once upgrade MMI I'm only be. using carplay only.

my actual 6.5 screen on the back says L7 CID entry, and want to upgrade to 8.8 screen CID F3X, and looking on eBay I see has CID high and entry which one should I choose?

hope someone can help me out.

Go to realoem.com & see what part number is listed for the 8.8.

Upgrading screen is a nice upgrade. I had the 6.5 in my f48 for my mmi install (andream). Many months later, i upgraded to 8.8 without any issues. Just set the dip switches & code in the change with esys & away you go.

But start with realoem.com & get the correct part # that is compatible with your car.
