Windscreen washer jets not working
Guys, so my car sat on my drive for 2 days in heavy snow fall, frozen over.
Have been driving it for a few days now since that and my washer jets don't work since the snow. The motor is still working as I can hear it but there's no water being squirted on the windscreen. As you know it's very dangerous, especially travelling behind a car on a dirty wet road, I can't see a thing as the wipers smeer it. I thought it could have been Ice creating a blockage so I put hot water into the water bottle and it made no difference Can anyone advise me on what to do |

Don't panic. The car has more brain than you give it credit for. As it's too cold it won't spray water onto your windscreen and wipe the wipers. Sounds stupid but mine did it and I took it into the garage. They told me the same and I didn't believe them. As the motor is still going there is nothing wrong with it. You need to up the concentration of your fluid

Ok so they are acting in a strange way.
The drivers side washer is just dribbling ever so slightly and the passenger side one is squirting out the side of the washer housing What is going on

I've had this issue since last winter. My drivers side works fine, the passenger side just premature ejaculates fluid out. I hardly ever use the thing so I didn't care much but I think we're going to have a bad winter this year. Gonna order a replacement and swap it out.

Mine did the dribbling thing today for a while, then cleared.
It was -2-3 overnight and I still had to scrape the car at noon to go out. There were no washers for the first 7-8 miles, then after about 10 miles the driver's side started to produce a little water with none from the passenger's side. Finally after about 15 miles (temp now +2) both sides sprayed normally full height and worked fine for the rest of the day. I'm guessing there were frozen lengths of pipe between bottle to nozzle which warmed up at different rates as the engine warmed up. |

I put virtually boing water in mine, gave it a good squirt and it seemed to work. I would try the simple solutions first. Other than that - has a pipe come off somewhere? Are you seeing screen wash on the floor?
Moving forwards, use BMW screen wash using part screen wash to 3 parts water and you will be OK in most UK temperatures. The BMW stuff is not expensive off eBay and its really good. Just the smallest of squirts is enough to clear the screen. Hardly use any at all. |

Remove the pipe from the washer jet and try the windscreen wash again. If it works the nozzles are blocked, remove and replace or soak them in IPA, pass a fine wire through them to clear the blockage and refit.
If no fluid is getting through with the jets removed then the blockage is further back. Jack up the front right and secure with an axle stand, remove the wheel and wheel arch liner. Disconnect the pipe for the windscreen, get someone to operate the windscreen washer and you’ll see which one to disconnect. With the pipe disconnected try the washer again. Strong flow from the pump outlet and pipe is blocked. It’s a single pipe that goes to a y junction so replace the section that’s blocked or push electrical wire through the pipe toward the washer bottle. If no flow from the pump then remove the pump, you’ll need to catch the windscreen wash from the reservoir, clean filters clean on all pumps, flush out reservoir and refit pumps. If the pump motor sounds weak replace. |

I found that my passenger jet was weak and low but the drivers jet was fine after a cold icy spell. If you look closely at the nozzles on the broken one the actual nozzle part was sticking out. I pushed that back in and works well now. Had to remove nozzle from bonnet and use a flathead screwdriver to get enough force to push back in. Might be your issue as well?
