Just signed up for UDE. Looks like this year it is the 530e, a downgrade from the 540i in terms of performance but the same msrp. Not sure who decided this to promote sales of lower volume 530e? Maybe they can make it the i8 instead. Assuming this also has active fake sound.

I did the SF one. For the autocross, they ran the 530e and an X2. They are promoting electric/hybrid power, hence the use of the 530e and the i3 "drag" run you can also sign up for once on site.

I may just do the free test drives as those cars are nicer.

The autocross can still be fun. The advantage to a slightly "underpowered" car is that you can really push it and wring it out. Plus, the short intro/driving lessons they provide can be helpful if you haven't done any sort of competitive driving before.

Also, you're not gonna be able to test drive any M cars. Closest thing will be the M240i (assuming the lineup is the same), and it's not likely that the test drive route they send you on will be very conducive to spirited driving.

Just my 2 cents. And who knows, maybe you'll win your event and move on to the nationals!

The 530e is still a pretty nice car. When is the UDE?

Ultimate driving experience. You can test drive any non m car on the street and also free auto cross, but have to pay to drive m cars. Google it, I did it last year and it was worth it since it's free.
