Just got some ST X coilovers which are very similar design with slightly inferior build quality (galvanized instead of stainless steel)
These ride great! Stiffer than F30 704 suspension, but not quite as stiff as E90 sport suspension IMO. Worth the purchase, especially compared to the base suspension my car used to have.

It will fit guys. The spring rate may be a little off but you won't notice it unless you are really really really pushing the car, and drive them back to back. RWD front end vs a Xdrive front end don't differ that much in weight that you can't account for with the height adjustment. Eg. the same collar setting on rwd would sit a bit higher than using that same collar setting on an xdrive. It's likely mm differences. There has been several users who have installed rwd coilovers on their xdrives. This isn't ideal if you use, say, 320i coilovers on an f31 335i wagon. Then you are heavier up the front AND the rear as well. But f30 335i coilovers used on an f30 320i would be fine, and vice versa. Specs for reference xdrive/rwd automatics (carfolio dòt com) F30 320i 3450/3296lb, 335i 3710/3594lb F31 320i 3638/3439lb, 335i 3814lb/3638lb F32 420i 3538/3461lb, 435i 3774/3635lb

I bet if I looked up the parts catalog even the transmission casings may be the same with some kind of "plug" to cover where the axle would enter the transmission. Here is one post where someone confirms KW differences are only in the springs Quote:
I'm still looking for the thread where another member used rwd coils on his xdrive. I beleive he used KW as well. (Update below with edit) But the thing to note is BMW, just like other brands will reuse parts across models where applicable. As much as they can. Thus is how they keep down costs. Audi (my old stomping ground) and VW do the same. Everyone does. It's engineering best practice (acronym is DRYS for "don't repeat yourself") Edit: found the post, but it was on Facebook , screenshot attached as well as some kw spec sheets showing the same shock part # for what looks like the 1-4series regardless of Engine size. This further confirms the LEGO-ness of major manufacturers.

Still not convinced that the front struts are capable, even other people in the m sport spring for sale thread are saying it's impossible to fit them. Sorry OP for hijacking your thread, this will atleast be useful for future rwd vs awd debates. |

I've provided substantial proof above :. BMW definitely shares parts up and down across series, as we already know (bumpers, electronics, etc.), so it would make no sense to not do the same with the shocks. We know it's possible now since KW and BC do it. If KW and BC can use the same shock/strut regardless of rwd or xdrive, there is a reason. Just helping out the community

This suspension will fit F30, F31, F32, and F36 at least. The only ones I haven't been able to confirm are convertibles and GTs. |
