Carbon Black must be especially exposed to scratching as I aw an AUC with 4000 on at my local and the bonnet was absolutely shocking, it was in the showroom like that too.

Yes, Chris, dark colours like CB, BSM and even Tanzanite show up the worst. I previously had an Alpine White F31 and that was very forgiving. Wanted a change though. My detailer said that BMW top coat is in fact very hard when compared to most manufacturers, which is good news as it means that a single stage machine polish prior to coating will leave most of it on the paint

Just had mine detailed after asking the dealers to do the bare minimum when preping the car .The detailer still found some random scratches here and there but managed to get them out.

The salesman told me that the only proper way to prepare the car was to machine polish it which adds swirls. I told him it was the way they do it

Here's a few pics.

Looks very nice indeed!! - mine's booked in for Tues/Wed next week
As for your salesman, the crap some of them come out with is off the scale. How they get the job in the first place is a mystery :

It actually looks more menacing with the chrome tipped exhaust on a black car vs the black tipped exhaust. I have a white car with the black exhaust tips. Is this with the MPPSK?

Black is a bitch for scratches, I’m getting silver or light grey cars from now on!

Silver hides dirt fairly well too.

I'm a big fan of detailing and protecting paintwork etc, but I'm also a realist and know that I'd never rest if I had a black car haha!
