Service intervals 1st-2nd service

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I had my first oil / microfilter service last week and due to the snow etc haven't really used the car since, till today.

Now the car is telling me service due in 19000 miles or 12/18. So that being only a year away.

Does it simply mean that's the next time something is due, or does the car now need another oil service in 12 months regardless of miles covered. It'll be nowhere near 19000 more like 8 or 9k.

Cheers

Garry

I assume that your car is two years old, so the next oil service will be in 2 years or 19k miles (or less). The next service item will be brake fluid at 3 years

Check your CBS requirements in vehicle info. How old is the car? If 2-years this month, it is going to be the brake fluid change next December. Plus the MOT.

Had my first service in November at 2 years old with 19800 miles. After that service it shows 'next service in 19,000 miles or 11/19. Yours should be two years the same as mine. Take it back and get them to redo the service interval.

CBS informs of the next item, mileage or timed, which ever comes first.

I don't see anything wrong, as the next item could be an oil service, (high mileage users), or the 12/18 scheduled items.

Thanks for all the replies.

Yup it's two years old (well next month it is) built Dec 15 registered Jan 16. First service must have been on time basis as it's only done just over 13k.

So the consensus is Brake Fluid then at Dec 18?

Thanks all👍

I think the consensus is for YOU to look on your iDrive at the 'Service requirements' section, which will tell you everything you need to know

Would it have been quicker to actually look on your iDrive than even start this thread ?

Answer to that is probably 'yes' too.

Actually, in this case the answer is no... As I was sat on a train approx 100 miles away from the car... And to make good use of travel time I thought I'd ask some usually friendly, helpful and knowledgeable folk on here.

Then you chipped in.... 👍

Two questions:

1. My car has done just under 14K and is saying service due in 1100 miles or 03/18. Everyone is saying 19000 but mine obviously thinks it's 15000. What's that about?

2. How much should a 1st service cost on a 320d?

cheers.

1. CBS may start at 19,000 miles, but adjusts the service interval according to your use.

2. Best get quotes/figures from garages around you, if you have a choice of where to go.

It's Sytner or Stratstone for me but willing to travel for better price as long as there's a good place to eat/shop nearby.

Just had my 320i first service at 2 years old with 19,800 miles. Mine was showing the service due at 20,500 miles or 2 years which was strange but the 2 years came first.

Mine was £245 for oil and microfilter at Sytner Oldbury. Had originally been quoted £265 but when I got there they said the price had gone down.
