A4 exterior is dull looking IMO...not as bad as the A3 though

the b9 isn't available yet.

RS4: "...will also use the 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 sporting 500 hp."
the B9 is a 2016 release in EU and a 2017 release in the US (iirc). going by audi track record the s4 will follow for a 2018 release and IF there would be an RS4 2019.

there currently are no plans for the RS4 to come to the states AOA has commented several times that their focus is on the RS3 and SQ5 at this time and they would email me when their focus shifts back to an RS4

To clarify, the US B9 A4 will be a MY2017 but hit the States in March of 2016. That's six months after the official unveiling in Frankfurt in a few weeks.

Rumor has it that the B9 S4 will be officially announced in September 2015 along with the B9 A4, and also be available as a MY2017 in the US sometime in 2016, much like the S3 followed the A3.

Unless there is some unforeseen economic meltdown between now and then, the US 500+hp RS4 is a go for MY2018, to be announced six to nine months after the B9 A4 and S4 hit US showrooms and are established in the market.

SQ5 has nothing to do with anything. SQ5 in not a GmbH car. We get 3 GmbH cars in the US right now, RS5, RS7, R8. Clearly we'll get more but the biggest obstacle to RS4's in the US is the Avant only trim.

i believe you're referring to QUATTRO not GMBH. GMBH is a designation for the type of company that QUATTRO division is. similar to how we have in the US LLC. in any event i know what you mean and i am only repeating what AOA has told me on several occasions. they have no intention of offering any sport or rs avants and their focus is on the RS3 and the SQ5 at this time. it is their latest offerings for the NAR market and i do not foresee them attempting to derail sales with an RS4 Avant. if anything it wouldn't be slated for being option until 2019. IF ANYTHING. lastly the SQ5 TDI which is not offered here was part of the QUATTRO division and enhanced by them.

Looks like this reviewer doesn't like the B9 A4's version of VSS either...

I think what will be interesting is the comparison between the two 2.0 engines from both companies.

BMW B48: 249 hp and 258 lb-ft
Audi's new 2.0 TFSI: 252 hp and 273 lb-ft

Can't wait to see the dyno chart of both. I'll probably be "downgrading" from an N54 to one of these.

selling point on the "new" a4 engine is carbon build-up is no longer an issue and supposedly the oil consumption that plagued audi in the past has now been resolved. only real world mileage and usage will prove that to be either true or false.
