M-Performance Exhaust and MPPK installed | Pics and Sound Clip
I just had the MPPK and MPE installed on the GT. MPPK was done at the dealer obviously (will do a review on it soon). The MPE was bought used and was installed by a local muffler shop. The tailpipes needed to be extended by a few inches for the longer GT body. otherwise the hangers and point where it mates to the midpipe are exactly the same. I also had both resonators deleted.
The video was taken with the exhaust valve in open position, with the car warmed up Last edited by Torquey; 04-28-2020 at 03:34 PM.. |

Looks great! I am looking to get the same thing done myself for my 2016 335i XDrive GT. What year is your F34? When I searched into getting the MPPK on my F34, it is showing that it is not available. Can you enlighten me on the steps you took for this setup. Thank you!

The MPE however is not a direct fit and has to be modified slightly. The dealer usually will decline to do that. And by 'modified' I mean to extend each one of the tail pipes around 3-4"... that is it. So doing it at a good muffler shop was the easiest and cost effective option. Initially I only had the resonators deleted and kept the stock muffler, but it was still barely audible from inside. So I went with the MPE and now it screams performance when I step on it. Also the no-resonator + MPE combo have made the burbles a lot more pronounced. Here are couple of subtle changes that came with the MPPK... |

Thanks for the reply.
I too, extended my warranty with platinum until 2023 and wanted to upgrade my car without compromising the coverage. How much did this cost you? Did you get it straight from the dealer or somewhere else and took it in for install. I am excited to read your reviews on it. |

I got the MPPK from the same dealer who installed it. Any other time, I would've considered getting it from eBay and then just pay for 1-2hr labor at the dealer for the install. But last month due to COVID lockdown, dealers started running parts and service special and I was able to have my usual dealer to match a 25% off both parts 'n labor. Which came out to be $1600 including 8.25% tax. Still expensive considering what other tuning options are out there offering lot more power for less. But then again, none offers the peace of mind when it comes to factory warranty. |

Thank you for the info!
Wow. That's a great deal! It's showing as $1700 + $70 installation on the BMW site. I doubt my local dealer offers any special right now considering I live in Hawaii and it's the only BMW dealer on the island. I will look into this in the near future and ask. I hope I can get a confirmation from them that they are able to install it and not giving me the walk around of it not be supported by my car. Does the car show any noticeable difference on your daily drives? Thanks again! |

Any BMW dealer should be easily able to verify that the MPPK can be installed on the N55 equipped GT. If they are truly clueless, ask them to look up part no. 11122353337. All my local dealers have at least one Service Advisor who "specializes" in performance upgrades... may be you can ask for someone similar.
As far as my impressions... I'd say it's met my expectations. I've been messing around with cars long enough to know what a 10% increase in power feels like in a car this size (it is close to 4000 lbs. after all, much heavier than the RWD F30/32/36 models). From what I've read... MPPK bumps the boost levels by 2psi, adjusts timing and throttle response. All that can be felt through the car's eagerness to move when I step on it. My preferred driving mode now is to leave it in comfort and put the transmission in 'S' soon after the car warms up... this really keeps the shift points where I like them but the throttle response is not as twitchy as 'Sport'. I may stack a JB+ or JB1 on it at some point in the near future. I know those can easily be removed before dealer visits. |

Good job getting those resonators deleted... MPE doesn't sound nearly as good until those are removed.
I took it an extra step and removed my cat too

Although I saw one video on Youtube where a guy fitted the MPE meant for the LCi 340i/440i on his 335i GT, with resonator delete for similar results & sound. I remember him mentioning that he did it at BMW of Toronto. Quote:

I was poking around and discovered there is an F34 specific MPPK but it's for 340s only https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...bC1sNC1nYXM%3D
