8,8 inch on HU_CICHB
I was wondering if you can upgrade the screen from 6.5 to 8,8 inch with a HU_CiCHB. In the CAF file I can find the part where I can change the display variante. But I can't find the display size resolution.

Would help if you said where you coming from? If you have the HU_ENTRY going to the 8.8" screen it won't work, for starters the video cable is different and even if you had the correct cable it outputs nothing.....trust me I've tried it.

Thank you very much. What do you mean it would help where I'm from? Are the screens different in Europe?

Different cars have different configurations depending on headunit etc etc. There are two versions of the basic iDrive. The early one called HU_ENTRY which can't take the 8.8" or the more recent HU_ENTRYNAV which can.
The screens are all the same worldwide. |

If your nav looks like this, then you have CHAMP2, I've never done the screen upgrade so can't advise. But I know the HU_ENTRY, it's not possible.
If its like this:, then it's HU_ENTRYNAV: As per me last mail, if its the ENTRYNAV, then you can just replace the screen. |

Champ2 (old Nav Business) is also not possible. 8,8" screen retrofit only works with Entrynav (new Nav Business from 3/2014 on or new Radio Prof from 7/2014 on).
@sprockie: With your 2/2014 car you have just missed the new HU by 1 month |
