BimmerCode vs Carly Connect

I'm not using any other software, just Bimmercode.

Has anyone else had these issues, and did you manage to resolve them ?

Yes I have that. Holding the phone dead close to the dongle works. Literally touching it. Then it connects first time if not then second. Thereafter there are no connection issues or drop outs and you are free to hold it at a distance.

My iPhone was in it's A-pillar Brodit mount, so maybe the distance, even though <1M, was the problem.

No improvement unfortunately. Looks like Bimmercode doesn't recognise this VGATE dongle, or the dongle is faulty.

I've heard of some dodgy copies not working but my V2 has worked seamlessly despite the mixed reviews.

Sorry for my ignorance. Was going to try the bimmercode app, but not sure if it will meet my needs.

I wanted to 1. have my Bluetooth to play music( currently it only has Bluetooth phone calls)

2. Add font support to my idrive screen to display Chinese fonts , Basically changing KOMBI -> 3008 PIA_Einheiten -> Funktionen -> Sprache. would the expert mode allow me to do that?

3. When I turn on my DRL in my idrive settings, it just turn on sidelights and dipped beam regardless of the brightness outside. Would bimmercode have any trick to set this to turn on the sidelights only?

What car do you have? F30? 2013? Do you have HU CHAMP? Or HU Evo?

1. Search for the Coding EBT guide on here for ideas on coding.

2. That is what expert mode is for so yes it can be done I think. Worth a try.

3. I think I saw the coding for this in the F30 cheat sheet PDF. Search for it here. Use expert mode to do it.

really hoping to add the Bluetooth music to my car, can't be bothered using the aux cable anymore!

E-mail the developer. He seems like an okay guy. I am sure he can add this feature or let you know how to access it. Keep us posted.

I managed to code EBT on my CIC with combox! The bimmercode Dev has been really helpful! Great app!

I had joy with Bimmercode last week with the V2 wifi dongle but for some reason the digital speed doesn't work on my NBTEVO with digital cockpit, even though it says active.

You have to go into I drive to activate it there also. There is a check box to tick.

Works perfectly with BimmerCode, when vgate (which seem a bit problematic from what I looked at) were scare they updated the BimmerCode site to show they support Tonwon as well.

No you cannot you need the sister app called BimmerLink to diagnose. You may be better off with Carly if you want everything in one app. It would probably add to the same if not more as Carly has paid features that require unlocking if you want them.
