Stephan from BimmerCode has confirmed this is no longer available on those with the latest software, not sure whether he's looking into a way around it.

Yea I logged a case and he will reimplement it. Stupid to remove it as not everyone will have the latest software in car. Once I proved I can do it on esys he was happy to read it lol

How does backup work on bimmercode?
If I press backup, does it automatically backup all modules, or do I need to open each module and backup individually?
Also, to utilise backup, do I just open backup, then select the date and press done?

Works with all Fx, Gx and, ix models. I haven't seen battery registration on mine for the F30. You could suggest it to the developer. See what he says.

From my very limited knowledge, SAT is the regular sport coding, like being able to go to Sport+. 2TB gives you different shifting, S rather than DS when moving the gear selector to the left, and launch control. Also I think when you have 2TB from BMW you get a different shift lever (bigger park button is the visual difference)

I already have S when sliding shift lever left. No DS...

I do not have Sport+ or Launch control.

Basically Im trying to figure out what transmission coding I can do to enable different features, faster shifting.

Not sure how to accomplish this. I have BimmerCode already....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No clue - I was going to try coding with Carly again, but I chickened out before I wrote the coding to my F30. A message popped up in the FRM that said something about "incompatible options". (My old E92's FRM was fried by Carly)

I have both, and I much prefer Bimmercode.

I would drop the developer an email and ask him to add this back on. Seems like a reasonably helpful guy. Unless you can restore from back up coding? Always good practice to make a back up before you code.

lost all my coding when I has mppk fitted.
So decided to bite the bullet and use BimmerCode today.
Was just going to start small, and code digital speedo.
Started the app, and selected instrument cluster, but no module found came up!
Is this normal for a 65 LCI f30?

I've been using Carly thus far and, although it can be a slow process to run diagnostics, clear fault codes, and code, it has been reliable.

Bimmercode has some different options, so I thought I'd try it. Can't say I'm impressed.

The Bimmercode developer answered a lot of my questions, and advised getting the latest OBD WiFi dongle : VGATE iCar Pro as it's the latest variant. However, it's got generally crap reviews on Amazon so I bought the iCar 3 on the basis that it's newer than the iCar 2.

Problem is, although the iCar 3 generates a WiFi SSID "iCar Soft" and my iPhone will connect to it, Bimmercode states that there's no connection. I tried this several times - always the same result. Unlike the Carly Gen2 dongle, the VGATE unit does not have any lights so you can't see if it's active.

I'm not using any other software, just Bimmercode.

Has anyone else had these issues, and did you manage to resolve them ?

You should send it back and get the iCar 2 wifi or Pro. The developer recommended those 2, not the 3, but you chose to ignore him.

One thing to try - put your phone in airplane mode, then turn on wifi and attempt to connect to the iCar.

Once connected you will be impressed by the app.

Yes I have that. Holding the phone dead close to the dongle works. Literally touching it. Then it connects first time if not then second. Keep in place until connection is established. Thereafter there are no connection issues or drop outs and you are free to hold it at a distance.

No I didn't ignore him. He said all three should be fine but recommended the Pro as it's the most recent. Amazon UK customers have rated the Pro as 33% 5 stars; 67% 1 star. The version 2 and 3 are both rated about the same : 3 1/2 stars.
