PCV warranty extension by BMW
Got this in the mail today…looks like BMW finally acknowledged the PCV issues. Wonder if they’ll reimburse my Ross racing kit?

Thanks for sharing. This is great news!
I haven't received a letter yet, but will look out for one. I tried to get mine covered under the 3rd party extended warranty I have, but it was denied as being part of the "emissions system". Now, I can hopefully get it covered by BMW.

That’s how your DME gets locked again forever lol. Prob best to just buy the pcv kit online for $10 and swap it out in 10 minutes or less.

I got this letter today. So did all my b58 buddies locally.
Doesn't sit well sending my stage 2+ to bmw to mess with. I'll probably do it myself as others discussed. |

Even if under warranty I wouldn't take it to the dealer when it's this easy to replace:

Especially as waiting until it fails can result in very inconvenient set-ups. Yes there is warranty but what does it help you on a Sunday joyride in teh mountains?

my understanding was that the diaphragm was failing in 2 conditions mainly, cars that spend hours idling and tuned cars that are running additional boost. is that assumption wrong?

Do you guys recommend a specific kit other than the ROSS one? I can't justify spending $110 on the kit.

Do they replace the whole valve cover or just the diaphragm? It probably wouldn't be any issue telling them not to update the software on the car when bringing it in

Your shit WILL get locked. This PCV warranty letter is a scam to lurk the owners back into the dealer to f you.

i know over here in the north east you pretty much have to bribe your SA with “tip” if you don’t want them to update your software

good video from kern, answered my question on if BMW will replace your whole valve cover, answer is no and they added a PCV repair kit for $220.
