20" Wheels for 320xi

Just ordered:

Rear: 20x10 et 40

Tires are: Hankook Ventus V12
Front: 245/35/20
Rear: 285/30/20

Do you think I will have any problems fitting them?

If you are lowered, you will most likely rub. I have the same rear wheel with Hankook V12 at 275/30/20 and it rubs the inner fender liner on full compression. A 285 will most likely rub unless you get more negative camber. I say probably because I don't know the camber settings your car came with.

Your rear will rub for sure on the outside if you're lowered at all. 20x10 et40 rubs even with a 265 30 20. You're better off going with 255 30 20 and stretching the tire a bit.

This will affect your performance pretty bad with those 10īs in the rear, the added rotational mass is to big for that engine so it will be noticeable.

Plus the added unsprung weight will definitely have a negative effect on acceleration. And not to mention aftermarket 20's on stock height = FAIL

Damn OP shoulda done more research before ordering...This probably the worst sizes for your car...I definitely would have stuck with 19's

Try adding 1-2 degrees of neg camber. It actually won't effect the wear at all. I did this to mine so I could tuck the tires a little bit more and after 7,000 miles, the inside wear is still the same as the outside wear.

For the OP, even if you don't lower it, if you put two people in back you will rub. Also if you get the wheels on there and do not want to drop it down a little I would be shocked. Your best bet is to try to cancel the order hoping they have not shipped yet. You should try to go with a ET of 42-45 on the rear with nothing wider than a 275. I am running a 10.5" with a 275. If you are running a 10" I wouldn't go over a 265.

The wheels are on and there is zero rubbing. Pictures to come.

I wouldn't of bought a 320 if I was looking for any sort of HP, that's why I have an STi pushing 500 to the wheels.

I tell people I bought 20s and they say oh it kills your acceleration. My response is dude its a 3 series BMW, it ain't fast no matter how much you mod it. For the price of the 3 series there are plenty of faster cars. Sure it is fun to drive, but if anyone can claim to sit in my car and go back to back with my stock 17s vs my 20s blindfolded and tell me one is faster than the other, they are smoking crack.

You clearly haven't driven a tuned 335 or m3 if you think 3 series are not fast. My buddys 335 runs almost even 1/4 mile as my f13 m6. My 335 will hopefully be getting up there soon.

Its not a fast car if your comparing it to cars with 500+hp sure. However a 335i with just bolt on's can put down around 400whp. And if you mean to tell me that 400whp is slow than your the one smoking crack buddy. You or the OP probably dont drive your cars to it full potential, understandable for OP since he claims to have a nice toy to enjoy. But anyone that actually drives their car understand the impact of added unsprung weight to their car's performance. I never said the 320 is a fast car or that the OP bought it for hp purposes, but i just find it silly to make a slow car slower, and give it the appearance that it is a performance car. I mean come on what slow cars you know come equipped with 285 tires? Thats what performance oriented cars run.
