Privat Akzent Wheels

I recently traded in my 2010 328i xDrive. I asked the service manager if I could keep my 18" Privat Akzent wheels and use them on my 2013 320i xDrive. He said he'd have to take a look and see if they fit the new car which he said would be 'most likely'. I ended up purchasing the 320 and 2 weeks later I dropped the car off to them overnight and the next day my service manager said the Privat wheels are not compatible. So I said 'ok thats fine'.

I happened to be on the discount tire website to get new wheel ideas. Discount tire is where I also got my Privat wheels. Their site says the Privat Akzent wheels are compatible with my 2013 320i xDrive.

So... which one is telling the truth? Did my local BMW dealer lie to me so they could sell my old car at a higher price? Or does Discount Tire not know 'everything' about wheels.

F3x uses 14mm bolts instead of 12mm bolts but that shouldn't be an issue on most wheels.
The offsets are pretty similar but not identical so that shouldn't be an issue either.

So without revealing the exact specifications on the wheels you had we can't answer this but under most circumstances it should be possible to transfer the wheels from E9x to F3x.

Actually it's the tire size that differs. On the E9x 225/40r18 , on the F3x 225/45r18

This is the only info provided by the discount tire website. The tires I purchased with the wheels were 225/45/18.

Maybe BMW meant that the Privat wheels are ok with the F30 but the ones that came with the F30 will not fit on the E90?

Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated.

There's an extra 5% of sidewall on both the front and rears which makes the overall diameter of the tire greater on the F30's. While you could get away with it, I don't think the dealer would officially condone it.
