ABS/Chassis Stabilization Erros after install stud conversion kit + new rims
Alright guys, this one has kind of stumped me. Got some new rims, so I thought I'll throw the stud conversion kit on to make taking the rims on ad off a little easier as I have two sets now. Got done putting everything on, torqued to spec, and went to drive the car, measuring psi etc. first starting hearing some clunking/rubbing noise, got out to check the clearance and nothing was close to touching, or rubbing. Next the abs light and Chassis stabilization warnings came up and it felt as though the e brake was on when I throw the car into the drive/reverse when it isn't. I did pull the ebrake when I was installed the rear studs but don't think that would be a big deal.
I went from APEX-Arc 8's to 437m, didn't think there was more to it than just putting the studs on and putting the new rims but the ABS system decided to go haywire. Was able to get the car back home as I just drove around the neighborhood but did so while fighting to just get it to drive.. Now if I put the car in drive, or reverse. It feels as though the e brake is on when it isn't. I attached the pictures of the codes I pulled through bimmerlink, '4809CD' is the code that catches my eye. But again I literally took the rims off and put the studs in, nothing else. Not sure why that would make that sensor be faulty now? Is it as simple as changing the front right abs sensor? Because the car isn't drivable currently and it was this morning when the other rims were on it🤦😂🥲 My car is a '17 340i RWD btw Thanks in advance |
