Repair of soft touch door panel
Hi guys, I have some damage in the soft material of the panel door.
I have been searching on the internet but I cant find any specific product to fix this. Any thoughts? Regards Last edited by Fsimoes; 10-20-2018 at 11:44 AM.. |

I have the same issue, but a few more nicks along the pocket edge. Stealers are taking the p155, quoting £700 for replacement door card , although have seen one on 'the bay for around £130 from Lithuania.
Looking on some upholstery repairers websites, I thought this could be repaired, no? |

Buying a new or used panel seems an expensive option that I would like to avoid. |

In that position I would not pay for an expensive option such as a new door card. Do as good a job as you can yourself and forget it. Certainly as a first option.
Try pushing it into place with a bit of heat maybe. |

Also briefly sign up for the F30 Facebook group and ask for any recommendations.
Dealer might also be able to recommend a good repair person. Accept it won't look perfect again but some heat and filler might have it smoothed over. Good luck.

I'd definitely try to repair it myself. Lift the flap and apply a tiny amount of glue then press it down evenly and maybe finish it off with a bit of black felt pen? Smooth it down with the back of a spoon if the material has wrinkled.

I'd be doing this. For me it's a balance.
Zero cost option no experience DIY, potential to make it actually worse (only based on me ) Spend £50-£80 on a Smart Repair-accept won't look perfect but will look better Spunk £700 quoted on a new door card.

I have seen some videos on youtube and some of this kits have a product that can copy the pattern of the material you are trying to fix. I will keep you guys updated, seems a lot of people have this type of problem but there's nothing specific out there to fix it. |

I've never tried this product (or anything similar, for that matter). Perhaps worth a try:
