Resonator and second cat removal for $110 on N26

Sounds like a good deal to remove the resonator and the secondary catalyst for $110...

Will sound really improve a whole lot? Worth it?

Will it set off any sensors? Don't think so.

I would keep the resonator.

Delete the 2nd cat and leave the res on. Sounds cleaner with resonators in my opinion. But if you don't have a crackle tune and want more pops stock, removing the resonator and 2nd cat would certainly help.

I would say it's not loud at all, zero pops and it just gave the N26 a little more attitude, but nothing much. Still worth it.

Nice. I want to do a secondary cat delete but am waiting for a bit. Do you think that bend will create a restriction point for your exhaust flow? Looks like it’s shrinks the diameter of the pipe a bit.

lose 1 cat, keep the resonator. that crimp can be fixed by ordering a 45-degree mandrel bent pipe off eBay. Thats all you need, and you'll sound the same as a 328i n20

The diameter is still the same, the cat did this odd angle, it should flow better than with the CAT

there you go. I don't think the n26 exhaust diameter is 3" but you can make it work at your exhaust shop

Hard to say what the diameter of the bend is if they manually bent it. Is it a 3” pipe they used and just did the crimp there? If so you might be ok as you would get back to roughly 2.5” inside. Ya I get the cat had a bend as well but it didn’t shrink the throughput size. Just had the cats to clean up the exhaust as it came through. Obviously no way to tell for sure what’s better. Hope it serves you well.

Does anyone know what is the diameter, I never realized the crimping was a problem, so I am going back to the muffler shop, but want to bring my own 45 degree pipe.

Just got my 2nd cat removed. They used an oval 3" mandrel 45 degree then an oval to standard pipe to connect towards the resonator. Paid a little more than others were quoting but it's clean AF!
