Low wiper fluid

(Not sure if is the right section where to ask this)

So my car (2016 435 GC) ran out wiper fluid while I was driving, I thought something was wrong with them because I didn't get any warning before related about that I was low on wiper fluids which I think it's super weird, even in my old e90 was getting "notifications" on my dashboard about this and I didn't get any this time on my car.

Any idea what can be? sensor malfunction?

Thanks

What type/kind of window washer fluid are you using? The Orange Rain-X version is known to cause issues with the sensor.

Orion4 gonna sounds weird but no clue,i have the car for over a year and i never put any, im assuming that my mechanic fill it up when im taking it there to do the oil change. But i dont think he is putting shitty fluids, he has a very well known shop for bmw and fancy cars

It's the really cheap stuff that actually works better because it doesn't have extra additives in it like RainX does. The additives to enhance water beading often foul the washer reservoir sensors.

It was a big problem in the VW world too. When I owned my GTI, I read many accounts of people having to drain everything and clean it all out or replace the sensor. Those who used the simple gas station branded -25F fluid never had any issues.
