Making custom F32 diffuser blades

So.. I decided that if nobody was going to make the diffuser blades/extension/things/whatever then I was going to have to make it myself.

Started with a laser cut cardboard design to tweak the prototype, then slowly I began switching out the materials to carbon fiber.

It's only a V1 and I'm already working on a V2 for 20mm thick fins instead of the current 1.5mm.. from the side profiles though I'm super happy with the results.

Looks good. What adhesives did you use, and source for the carbon?

VM100 - it's a 10 minute exothermic composite glue, so providing you have prepped the surface and got it keyed enough you'll get an incredibly strong bond.

The first round of carbon I made myself, just lay the the fabric out on a glass sheet covered in a release agent, then build up the backing to gain some thickness. For the second lot I sourced it from Easy Composites, they're like the go-to in Europe for composite resources and high quality products

If I could find a shop that would sell the carbon plates cnc'd so that I could get as many out of each plate I'd be tempted, but right now I'm hand cutting each one which isn't efficient at all ha.

Right now I'm around £220 in costs, some of that could be cut down though now I know which parts I can skip.

I just began 3D printing the fins in plastic at 20mm thickness and then I'll wrap them in carbon instead, that way might be a more cost effective route if enough people fancied some.
