Ha excellent summary there NISFAN. Based on those profiles, it's the old faithful line-up of saloon or touring for me.

What's the proper term / name of the back to front "7" after the front tyre on the wings? 4-series and 3GT have it even though the 3GT is a 3-series (saloon / touring don't have it).
Nearly thought the 4GC was the 3 saloon on first glance in the line up post. 4 coupe is very curvy and 4GC will be too in the flesh? Off topic: The E92 M3 saloon was a hybrid - front end was the E92 coupe and back was the E90 saloon but now the M3 saloon and M4 coupe are separate. |

So the 4 series is the Coupe version of the 3 Saloon. Good, I get that, stops all the e90, e92 type confusion....
The 4GC is the Saloon version of the Coupe version of the Saloon version. WTF??? So the e90,e92 type confusion is re-born.... The coupe or 4 series is a sexier, sportier version of the 3 series, yet the 4 Series 'Saloon' is the practical hatch version........ Is it just me who thinks that this is NUTS???? |

If I could get a hyperactive Dalmatian in a 4GC and not have RSPCA beating me up, I would wait for a 4GC. |

I think it looks great, and after checking it has 5 seats [ well 4 + 1] I would definitely choose it over my F30 had the option been available at the time with a killer deal.

I got my choice down to F30, F34 or Audi A5.
I decided I wanted a hatch, didn't in any way need a estate. 3GT's styling really did nothing for me, just to much of an SUV slant (squint and it a bit X6 like) and chunky rear end. The A5 was ok, enjoyed the drive until I got back in my E90 to drive home and realised how dead the Audi steering was even compared to the electric E90 LCI. Shame as the A5's styling really worked for me... Outgoing model and technology /efficiency also lacking in comparison. We went back to BMW and drove an F30 again. F30 with folding seats the result. Now, from these pictures it would have been the 4 series grand coupe... No contest! The rear line is just so much more appealing to me on the 4GC than the 3GT. Maybe next time...

Brilliant, I thought it was just me that was struggling to keep up with this. All we need now is a coupe version of the touring and we've got all bases covered |

Omg, lost me again I,ll have to google that. I.m afraid I have limited knowledge of the Mercedes range.
I have had a bit more of a look at the threads on the 4 series GC though and I have to say I quite like it. I think it could be a contender if / when I change my f31. |

So it's a 'lifestyle' estate version of the Merc CLS, which is itself a 4 door coupaloon version of the E-class. There is actually an E-class coupe, but really confusingly I believe it's based on the C-class platform. All ridiculousness aside, I like stylish cars, and don't need outright load space, just like the flexibility that an estate offers. So Audi A5 sportback and A7, BMW 4GC all make sense to me. Great to have the choice. |

I like the look of the 4GC. It'll be on my shortlist when i decide to change within a couple of years
I wonder what changes will now be done to the F30 LCI, possibly some options that are now available, will be standard i presume. |

A little off topic, however was looking at an M4 today in dealers.
It had a wrap done on it, looked stunning. Sort of a dark brushed aluminium effect. Dark grey not bright. All the texture was there, entire car was done, looked amazing. Was tempted by wife and dog would kill me lol. |
