Rear camera failure-Now FIXED

Rear camera failure. Anyone had this before? Picked car up from dealer yesterday after oil change. Got home and reversed on to drive and 'reversing camera failure' popped up with no view. Switched off, tried again and same thing. Left power off for about an hour and tried again and it worked. Stopped working again since.

My thoughts are loose connection or software (camera has worked once so not the camera itself). Had a quick check of the coax near the REM and that seems fine. Will remove the boot liner to check the coax in to the camera module when I have a bit more time. (2016 F32, pro nav)

Have searched and read quite a few have had intermittent issues but no conclusive cause. Any ideas please?

If I get no luck, I'll whip it back to the dealers (they had reversed it in to the customer bay but would like to think they would have noticed before giving it back!)

This came up on mine the other day, but turning it off and on again made it work. Haven't had it since.

As far as I'm aware, no. Just first oil change and health check. All my coding is still in place and remap is still there!

I've tried deselecting and reselecting camera but still a big fat freddy.

Garage List
A youtube video recently mentioned that water can get in to the electrics and cause camera failure. It doesn't say where though, so may be worth looking for water residue.

What would that have done? I had mine updated when I had the MPPSK fitted.

If you are in warranty why go to the trouble of troubleshooting yourself. When it does it get a video to prove it then make the dealer sort it

Because wasting a day with it back at the dealers for something potentially simple like a loose wire at the REM coax or camera isn't really worth the trouble. If its not, back to the dealer.

Its unlikely to be that simple or at least a connection you can easily get to. Get a courtesy car for the day, its hardly a day wasted!

Where is this coaxial cable? And where can it be connected and disconnected? That it meets the same problem after an oil change...Thanks!

Recently, my X3 2018 is having issue with rearview camera. It just shows up as blank screen in reverse mode. and the rearvewi camera is activated on the screen. It was working perfectly since 2018.
There is no s/w update due msg on the screen.
Turned off the engine and then start engine, put into Reverse, it still shows blank screen.
