ER Turbo to intercooler. How much faster?
Hey guys so I tried to search it up but I couldn't seem to find a article with someone's opinion on how much of a performance increase the ER TIC gives. I currently have VRSF Chargepipe, Catless 4 inch downpipe, 5 inch stepped HD intercooler. I also have bootmod3 E30 OTS shelf tune with the dv+ also. I also have a bms intake sitting in my room because it just gives my car rough idles and performance issues down low like stuttering and stalling but oh well stock air box FTW for now. The only thing left for me to do is the TIC and the pure inlet. I just want to hear other people's experience when installing the TIC.

Zero performance gain in my opinion. All its doing is ensuring that you dont have a boost leak. Exact same as a charge pipe.
Interested to hear other opinions... |

Yeah because someone told me it made a big difference for them but I questioned. Man beating n54s on mhd e60 claiming to be on OTS E30. The only mod difference we have is that pipe so I had to ask lol

I have the ER TIC on my 435 - 0 zip nada increase in performance (I didn't expect it to) I just installed it at same time as new CP & FMIC to make the system complete
On AWD the TIC was harder than the CP install even with the FMIC out, but figured what the heck I'm under here anyway CP is really all you need to replace - as the OEM is a piece of crap & cracks @ intake end sooner or later = much sooner if you are running more boost with a tune

i believe there IS a uprated turbo where you need an larger TIC due to higher performance turbo opening size being larger than stock. Other than that, changing TIC really is just 'to be sure'. Never heard anyone having real problem with the stock TIC, yet, hey, while you're in there doing stuff may as well...

I have it on my M235i. Zero performance gain, got it because it can't hurt and I'm a bit of a completionist

Glad to hear this. Just had VRSF CP and AA IC installed and was debating on whether to swap out TIC since I'm there anyway. Stock turbo here so probably not worth the effort and money.

Specifically for a daily driver car as opposed to a track car. Evolution Racewerks lists "Increase throttle response and decreases turbo lag" as their top feature for the TIC pipe upgrade. This makes sense that a smooth hard pipe would have better air flow than a flexible stock pipe. I'm wondering if you feel any difference in responsiveness during daily driving? |
