Clicking sound from wheel

Yesterday, while driving with the windows down, I noticed a clicking sound coming from the passenger side.

I looked under and around the wheel wells to see if something was stuck. No random road debris, nothing out of place. After some research, I read about some wheel bearing issues plaguing some owners and thought, "crap." (I'm WAY out of warranty)

I decided to pull off both tires on the passenger side to inspect more closely. Front tire, aside from tread getting a little low, no issues.

Rear tire, also with tread getting low...bingo. Dammit. Seeing as how I'm gonna need new tires soon anyways, I'm thinking about just leaving it as is, keeping an eye on the pressure, instead of repairing it, only to replace it in a week or 2. Oh well...on the bright side, my wheel bearings aren't shot.

Actually, I just called America's Tire (where I bought the tires) and found out they repair for free. Dope. I'll try to get down there today.

Most tire shops will include hazard coverage but you have to be above a certain minimum tread depth. Good thing you didn't wait any longer or you'd have to buy a new tire. Of course they will check the tread depth when you get there so fingers crossed.

Just got it done! I was nervous about the tread depth as well, but it looks like eked in just over the limit.

Tire is plug-patched and I'm good to go.

You will need to get new tires soon but at least you'll get a few more miles. The repair they did was cheap though. If you get oem runflats through bmw and most tire shops they give you a whole new tire for free as runflats can't be repaired. You could have let out all the air and driven on it to damage it beyond repair to get a new tire.

I'd recommend an alignment. You have a bit of uneven wear on your tires. One end of your tires is nearly at the wear bar while the other only looks about halfway through.

Time to get rid of the run flats.

Never ran runflats on my car. Bought it used with non-oem tires. Currently on Pilot Sport A/S 3+ staggered, but I'm thinking about going back to a square setup, maybe try the PZero Nero GTs...they're fairly inexpensive but seem to get decent ratings.

Probably running a bit of negative camber due to my lowering springs and spacers. Alignment is on my to-do list, among many many others as I'm quickly approaching the 100k mile mark!
