Off topic.. E87 130i Msport.

Based in Cambridgeshire. I'm torn with what to do with it but depending on a possible new car, my 130i is up for grabs.
So this could be removed from sale if my new car falls through.

2006, E87 Le Mans Blue, 127700miles. Owned by myself for the last 11 years. 4 owners (that includes me).

Msport, so all the usual extras that come with that.
Factory Xenons
216 wheels in Ferric Grey, no curbing. Non run flats with new rears, fronts have miles and miles left.
Electric memory seats
Factory Aero spoiler
BMW Clubsport shifter
M3 lower control arms (I have the originals still)

Major work completed:
Full Vanos, not just solenoids.
Water pump and thermostat.
All 4 callipers with the most recent being this week due to squeaking.
Xenon Ballasts.
New battery last year.
Along with loads of other parts as and when.

Full BMW and specialist history, with a MASSIVE reciept file. The same specialist has been working on the car 11 years.
Both keys and all wallets and books.
Computer says 16,000 for next service item!

It's in good condition for age but not showroom..
I recently clayed, polished and waxed so she sure does shine.
Interior is excellent apart from the drivers bolster is cracking, a common fault. Business Radio LCD has no missing pixels.
Aircon ice cold, heaters like a furnace.

Bad bits:
Stone chips to front, the wheels look ace but are starting to bubble on the inside edge in a few places.
Drivers side bolster leather is cracked, like they all do.
The reversing sensor errors, I have a new PDC unit that just needs to be coded.
Clutch judders occasionally and lightly when cold, but again common at over 100k+
The boot lid squeaks/clunks (it's been doing this for 11 years and I've never attempted to fix)
The M Sport kick plates are a bit ropy on one side.
One of the flip up flaps for roof rails snapped off years back, I still have the flap so some clever sticking will sort I suspect.

I've listed everything I think and I've been honest. Most folk would not disclose that sort of thing and put it down to the age of the car, but I like to be as transparent as possible.!

I dont really have any idea on price but going on what's around and whats sold.. £4400?
It will be put back onto original plates (I ordered them today) and the M Performance parts are going to be swapped back for the original parts that I still have.
I'm going to spend the next few days giving it a good clean up so I'll post further pictures, the pictures below are from a while back:

Now that is an itch I never scratched. I had a 2005 120D E87 for over 10 years. Would've loved to have a 130i.

Love the E87, yes it has flaws but such a fun car to drive, still miss mine.

I suspect the 130i will be a future classic amongst enthusiasts.

Good look with the sale.

Yes, that N52 engine is a peach... Swapping between the B58 and N52 is night and day..
The N52 is instant and responsive, the B58 cannot compete in that area.
The low rev grunt is impressive, too.

The 130i has uniqueness in abundance. The only RWD hot hatch with 6 NA cylinders. It's a joy.

Pictures just now after a wash. Please excuse the backdrop but dodging the rain showers meant I could only head down the road before the next torrent of rain appeared.





















After a thorough check over when washing it just now I've found an early onset of some small bubbles on the drivers arch. See the picture.
I suspect the E8x suffers the same front arch issue as the E4x 3 series from the same era.. Luckily the front arches are a simple bolt on so can be repaired easy peasy. I've just checked and there's loads on Ebay too for around £50.
I'm obviously happy to adjust the price on this new find.

Yes, on there too.
I've had loads of interest but nothing solid yet.
Yeah it's good considering its age.. it's no means concours but honest and much better than many I've seen. Some are horribly bad.

Well... The replacement I had lined up sold yesterday...
I phoned up to place a deposit, only to be told it sold. Gutted.
My own fault, I was too slow with faffing about.

So, I nearly removed mine from sale yesterday but as I'd already got into the mindset of selling my old faithfull (and already removed all the M Perf parts) I'm continuing with the plan, sell mine and run a single car so I can pounce when I need to.
It's going to be really hard to see it go, especially as I haven't got anything lined up now to replace. Stay strong Medslow, stay strong.

I did actually think of adding it to the BMW Car Club UK classifieds. But it seems like a very quiet market place with nothing on there, well, only 11 cars and 1 number plate.

It's now back on its original plates, M Perf exhaust removed and the cars original installed yesterday.
It's now sitting on the drive waiting to go to it's new owner.

If it's like a lot of the other marque owners clubs a lot happens behind closed doors & goes on through the head office or contacting through to the various membership area organisers & the various model registers.
