MPPSK Fitment Trouble

Hey guys,

I installed a used MPPSK catback yesterday and it sounds absolutely phenomenal but I cannot get the fitment right.

The left tip is pushed farther in than the right and barely goes past the diffuser. The right tip sits too far to the left and touches the diffuser, but it protrudes farther than the left. Both tips are not centered at all.

How can I align this properly? Could it be the clamp on the mid pipe not centered? I also reused the rubber boots that connect the exhaust hangers if that matters.

Thanks guys.

Man those are some horrible pictures to try and show the issue. Based on what you said, you need to slide the whole exhaust more into the downpipe. This will pull the right side in and push the left out.

Loose all the screws all the way after the downpipe to the back box, align the tips then tighten all the screws again.

You can adjust the position of the muffler tips. There is a set screw that holds it in place, loosen the screw and adjust the position of the tip to where you want it to be and re-tighten.

Thank you, what about the right tip touching the diffuser? I loosened the clamps and tightened them again and I got the same result. It does not want to sit properly.

Mine isn't perfectly even either. Yours is a bit more extreme, I can see that, but either way - one adjusts it visually using the tips. Just release and pull one backwards until they are even.

What do you mean “release and pull”? I can’t get the tip off to adjust, very frustrating lol

Why not? I am not familiar with the silver tips but the carbon fiber ones are held by a fixating screw. You unscrew, adjust the position and fixate again.
The silver ones must be the same since both are options.

Silver tips are the same. Adjusted mine inwards the other day, they stuck out way too far.

Don't want to be negative, but can you be sure the car it was originally installed on wasn't in a minor rear accident that caused the exhaust to bend a bit? May be why it was offered up for sale used?

It was definitely rear ended, and I was told that, but the guy told me the fitment would be fine when I asked him about it. When I picked it up, it looked fine too.

I ended up having to take it to a shop and have them fix the fitment. They needed to reweld the bracket on the hanger and it sits perfect now.

I also stripped the hell out of the Allen bolt under the tip trying to get it off like an absolute moron. Took it to the shop AGAIN to have them drill it out because I didn't have the tools to do it.

After all that, it sits perfect now. Although I'm not sure I'd go through that headache again. Paid $1200 for the exhaust, $100 for new tips, and $250 more to get it aligned correctly.
