The prop 65 blurb is automatically generated by product type (prefix) for the website regardless of if the product can or can't be sold into the state.

In case no one has noticed by the way --- everything causes cancer or reproductive harm according to California law.

Looks like a very nice product.

But isn't compatible with the 140/540/740 or X3 M40i correct?

The 540/740 and X3/X4 M40i platforms would require a different design. There are currently no plans to produce an intake for those models.

The M140i we do not get here in the states so we have not validated fitment on the platform. In theory it should work but until a unit gets in the hands of our UK importer for validation/fitment check it will not be listed as compatible.

On a true MPPSK vehicle I could not say as we haven't had one of those in the shop since doing stage 1 development. On an M240i, which should be essentially the same as an MPPSK equipped vehicle for this purpose, the gains were nearly identical to the 340i listed with a slight fluctuation of 1-3 HP/TRQ at the top end.

Works as advertised

Here is proof that real engineering actually pays off. This carbon cold air intake from dinan actually garnered Real-World Street proven results. In comparison to the BMS intake the car was able to accelerate faster and perform better than its competition. In a research conducted street race (closed course) the car was able to perform against the competition with incredibly surprising results with a before and after run showing much better acceleration from a Dig and a Roll Race.

Same here. How was the install? Any cutting/modification needed or was it a bolt-in mod?

Chances you were watching your AFR values? I mean, add more oxygen...run lean, and you make more power.

Installed mine on friday... just got to test drive today. Replaced the BMS intake.

Install - piece of cake. I dont do much auto work and took me about an hour from removing the existing BMS intake to complete install. Literally the worst part of the install for me was getting the damn OEM air box clips out. I spent 20 minutes on that alone. The front right clip was impossible to reach, I had to get some wire rope and fish it down to engage the new clip.

Aesthetics - huge improvement on looks. Sound not so much but I was expecting that being enclosed. The BMS sounded better to me.

Performance - After some more driving - I can definitely confirm there is more pull after 20 and up. Better response also at higher speeds. I have no tangible way to compare... this is just based on feel.

Performance - I really want to say I could feel more of a pull after 20 or rolling. I only did one 10 minute drive so cant say much.
Report back again after more driving please.

Install was easy. The only difficult part to get to was the turbo inlet. other than that, do it yourself. its fun and easy

Any chance you could post a video of the sound of the intake? It's so new and so few people have one that I want to hear it before I pull the trigger.

Thanks!
