Android multimedia system upgrade f30
Hi guys, I found this last night.
https://avinusa.com/bmw-3-series-f30...on-system.html what do people think of upgrading the "screen" on the f30? has anyone done this already? One thing that disappointed me with my f30 was the fact it's difficult to upgrade the head unit like I did in my old focus ST. currently got a 2015 335d xdrive in blue. |

About 8-9 months ago I explored the options with several Korean manufacturers (maybe one company OEM's for all of them?), and from what I was able to gather, they were at the time still in development of the product. Perhaps they have a ready product now?
Looking at the installation instructions, they assume that you don't have the NBT unit, and that you don't have the DVD player in your dash, not sure what they expect you to do if you have either of those options already included with your car. It looks rather promising, and certainly if indeed it is now available, it would be an attractively priced alternative to upgrading to connected drive, or even upgrading an older car to incorporate Apple CarPlay. In some ways, this is even more advanced with the touchscreen functions.

A non-OEM screen will definately void your warranty.
Another option is to retrofit a 8.8" screen (if you have the smaller 6.5" one) and buy an MMI unit into which you can connect either Apple TV or a Miracast unit, so you can mirror your phone's screen onto the original BMW screen. |

Here's a solution that keeps your existing equipment, essentially you overlay a touch screen on top of the factory video screen, so this is relatively easy to restore the car back to OEM condition:
http://indiwork.co.kr/portfolio_page...-bmw-f30-wide/ I am a bit concerned that the website is mostly in Korean language, would hate to navigate an "engrish" user interface!!! Anyone here want to be the guinea pig and try this system and report back to us?

To be honest, I've looked into this and it's garbage. You'll probably end up devaluing the cost of the car adding this.
Stick with an NBT upgrade...
