You can buy the tension struts online for $200 a pair if you can DIY. The battery is $120. Right there you save $500. The latch could be replaced easily and cheaply if you can get it open for more savings.

Go to an indy that specializes in German cars. Never go to a dealer for service other than for warranty work.

@ the OP...

How many miles on your 335? I'm nearing 100k but my tension struts seems to be fine for the time being.

What are your DIY capabilities?

Just replace the entire control arm. If the bushings are bad, the ball joint may not be far behind AND it is much, much cheaper. I did them on my E60 and got Lemforder tension struts from Amazon on the cheap.

Battery is a DIY, just make sure you have it registered.

Hood latch is also a DIY.

The transfer case leak I would also keep an eye on and address in the near future. You do NOT want that thing running dry. Have an indy do it.

good luck.

I am able to replace the control arms on my own. maybe.
battery myself..
I would've been able to change the hood latch but the wire inside the wheel well would not budge at all.

I have to do an alignment after the control arm replacements though???

Before I bought my 328 the hood did not open (lucky for me since it was caught in time and the owner paid the dealer to get it done). It was around $500 if I recall correctly.

I didn't on my E60 and didn't have any alignment issues or abnormal tire wear.

Dealership is going to use branded parts where indy could use OEM equivalent.

I think the link I sent u were TRW arms. TRW is the make BMW uses on the F30 arms so no alignment should be needed. The hydro-bushings are filled with air and oil and are comfortable but don't last long at all under spirited driving or on the track. Mine began to leak at 20,000mi.

Battery price sounds ok. Two years ago, I paid $334 to my Indy. He installed and registered the AGM one.
