Received a few requests for a video of my M2 Exhaust, thought I'd share with the forum. I was inspired by this thread

Sounds good. So everything bolted on nicely without any modifications just like if one was installing an MPE axle back, right? Unless you have comfort access, in which case the plastic for the bumper kick sensor needs to be modified.

I had it welded in place, but yes everything fit nicely with the exception of comfort access.

here's where the pipes were joined. I initially had it clamped, but now it's welded.

interesting, is their actually a difference internally between the two exhaust's muffler, or is this simply to upgrade to a quad tip setup?

How was the sound difference? I have the opportunity to pick one of these up for free. I already have a DP and race resonator swap in place....just curious if it's worth it sound wise as I have to drive 3hrs lol.

I'll be swapping the quad tips for dual tips, which I'm worried will make it not as loud/rich.

To me it's notably louder. I like the tone and it's raspier. Also much more burbles, which I love.

I think you should go for it, especially if it's a free muffler.

If I go this route I would ideally want dual instead of quad also. initially I thought just an aftermarket diffuser was needed to go quad tip, but it looks like the bumper would actually need to be cutand that's not something I want to do. I imagine new tips would need to be welded? and if your worried about difference in sound of quad vs dual, just slap some fat 4/5" tips and that should make up for it! jk... let me know how it goes

I ended up picking it up. Can't beat free lol.

I'm going to run by my exhaust shop this week and see if he's comfortable with it. Shouldn't be a problem and I've seen it done before.

defenitley can't beat free, especially because they go for about $300. even as a test run your only going to spend about $50 to get it welded, or maybe just use a clamp in case your not happy you don't have to cut/weld again. how do you plan on changing it to dual-tip?

Hiya! So I went ahead with this mod and I can’t get the tailpipes to sit right. They are tilted down and there is a nasty gap between them and the bumper. Are there any tricks to mounting it?

I had to trim a lot of the plastic that supported the comfort access. Also, having the muffler welded in instead of clamped helped correct the angle of the muffler and pipes be more flush with the bumper.

The first pic shows what I started with in regards to trimming. second pic shows how much I actually trimmed

Cool, thanks! Having tried to improve the fitment by adjusting it with a clamp, it seems like welding it or modding the muffler piping is the way to go in order to get it to sit right.
