FINALLY broke into the 11s on stock turbo!

Was competing in the 11.5 index at Import Face Off in Joliet last Sunday. I lost during the first elimination to my buddy in his 600+ whp ISF, but I still can't even begin to describe how stoked I am -- getting this car into the 11s has been way more of a challenge than I initially thought. I know it's not a world record or groundbreaking performance or anything but I've been to the track 4 times this past summer and it's been 12.0-12.2 the whole time, so I'm beyond pleased. Here's some video:

By the way -- that A90 Supra that I lost to ran 11.0 with just a downpipe and tune. Not jealous of the B58, nope, not at all...

Here's some info some mind find useful:

- I achieved the best times in Sport+ mode with DSC turned fully off (held down for several seconds), shifter in D mode. Regular auto 1st gear launch using LC.

- I also noticed that (at least for me) XHP stage 3 seems to be quicker, at least on the 1/4, compared to stage 2. Had the torque slider set to +25% and torque scaling set to +15%.

Car is likely spending most of its time in the garage/being worked on this winter since it's no longer my daily. Couple Q's:

1. Can anyone recommend any good shops for a custom manifold and turbo set up? None of the current "kit" offerings seem to match my longterm goals for the car. I'd really like something modular/upgradeable and top-mounted.

2. Car is tuned for E30 but it's now set up to run full E85 -- Cary offered to retune for a discount, should I try to max out the stock turbo and go for the record? Does anyone know what the current stock turbo record 1/4 mile record is?

Any advice would be awesome. Haven't been this deep into a car's build since my old turbo CRX.

Thats awesome! What was your 60' time and what MPH is she running?

Edit, derp... watched the vid and got my answers.

been debating on doing the xhp trans flash because of the launch control changes alone! I have the BM3 tranny flash and ran a 12.2 at 113mpg on an ots e30 map

Thanks brotha! XDI-60 HPFP and fuel-it! flex fuel lines and sensor.

Fueling is overkill for this set up but I plan on upgrading the turbo and building the motor over the winter. Still on the original E30 tune I had with the stock HPFP so I'm curious to see what she'd do with a full e-85 retune, but not sure if it's worth it since I'm about to tear the whole thing apart

Haha no worries. Definitely room for improvement on the 60'. Was competing and RT mattered so I didn't have time to really nail the perfect launch, though I will say it wasn't until I did the XHP flash that I was able to get into the 11s. Ironically I still got tree'd BAD on both runs. I was on the BM3 TCU flash for a few months before this and the XHP is a completely different beast. The BM3 flash is great for raising torque limits but that's all I really noticed vs the stock tcu tune.

Definitely a worthy upgrade IMO. People scoff at the $350 price tag but honestly compared to everything else I've done to this car, that's nothing!

Congrats!

I’m confused about the Launch Control. I thought you have to be in Sport+ AND shifter in M/S (not D) in order to engage it. What am I missing?

Thanks man! It confuses me as well. I've tried everything but it engages no matter what, or at the very least there's a rev limiter built in regardless. As long as I'm in Sport+, it doesn't matter what I do, if I try to brake boost normally it engages a limiter that behaves EXACTLY like LC just without the little flag/notification on the dash.

Thanks! Yeah those are some awesome times brother! I’ve been following your build(s) for a while now.

On your f30 how much power does the 8374 leave on the table? If I do go to speedtech I’m wondering if it’d be worth it to just start with the 9180 on low boost since the motor will be built by then

Also any limitations you’ve run into? Wondering if I should go ahead and run meth and/or PI even though I’ve got the xdi-60...
