Best Tire Size for 18x8

Hi, F30 LCI M Sport here with OEM 400M wheels (18x8 +34).

What's the best size of tire for a track setup on this wheel size?

I'm looking for square setup, was thinking of 245/40R18 but unsure if this may be too wide for 18x8.
Also considered 235/45, however it seems a little narrow compared to the 255/35 rears on the factory 19s.

Tires I'm considering: AD08R, NS2R (180TW)

Track tires run wide usually. While you're on 18x8's I'd probably run a 235/35/18 or a 235/40/18 if you want more sidewall.

Don't get the NS2R's they're garbage

245 is doable but I wouldn't go past that. 8 inches is roughly 205mm

I have ran and am currently on 245/40 square setup. Perfect setup in my opinion and does not bulge out past the wheels. Turn in has improved dramatically with no wheel chirp and very positive input. Car feels very planted with this setup along with my suspension as well.

Max 456 WHP - 452 WTRQ. Currently tuned down to 434 WHP and 362 WTRQ to save the rods.

Which wheels and what tires are you running?

For track I have Federal 595 RS-RR's in 245/40/18. Running the 397 rims. For daily I run the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus in same size.

Thanks. I was thinking of getting the RSR as well.
Any reason you didn't get the RSRR instead?

The "8" in 18x8 only measures where the bead lays. The tire tread width should be ~1" or 25mm wider to sit square on the wheel lip. That's why 235 is a perfect fit. But I'd run a 245 for track purposes.

Sorry left out one of the R's, haha.. I run the RS-RR. I believe the RS-R were meant for Drifting and some in the 240 and 350Z community use these tires. I am sure they might do well on track but I stuck with the Track oriented RS-RR's.
