That would cripple young families and and the country would not make sufficient Tax throughout the year. Imagine being low paid, just married and having huge tax bills just to get house stuff, clothes etc. Then an older couple, worked way up salary, loads tax free wages, however don't need much for house. I prefer two tier VAT and more toll roads,. Anyone found with off shore account pays 40% tax on all monies invested since opening account. |

Franky I care very little as taxation is not what I come on here to discuss, I just found it an amusing comment. It has nothing to do with who is was or was not directed at, just very apt for the world we live in today.

I just meant, I was siding with him in that, I see his point, I was just highlighting his methods wouldn't work but I didn't start the tax talk ANYWAY !!! I've been driving the Range Rover Sport Autobiography V8 a lot lately very luxurious , love the digital dash, don't like being so high up but comfy certainly consider as a 2nd car |

My underlying point was that the UK black market is worth about £150bn, around 10% of GDP. It is a far greater proportion in the 'Club Med' countries, but it is still a real problem here. That activity is entirely untaxed, and could almost solve the deficit if you could tax it. It is extremely complicated, intrusive, expensive, and likely to fail if you do it directly, so instead you need to go after consumption. Increasing Fuel duty and VAT costs nothing at all in expenses - the framework is already there and you are simply changing the rate. It is also very hard to avoid. I accept that there are problems with it, and it is regressive by nature, but with other tax levels adjusted accordingly, such as a raised personal allowance, it has the effect of taxing the black market. I'm realistic enough to know that no politician will try it. On the general matter of aggressive tax avoidance, it is becoming increasingly socially unacceptable which is a positive move. |

I wasn't offended just it was vastly off topic / irrelevant
just focus on the numbers 1. how much would you raise fuel duty by? 2. what allowances/restrictions would you impose ? for example , will business such as tesco pay same level? That will raise food prices would rural people pay less? how would you enforce this? what's to stop me filling up at a countryside 20 miles away? 3. if you reduce income tax, would fuel duty alone cover that? 4. if people stop driving less as a result , what then? I have many points, but it should illustrate it's not so simple Also the black / grey market often props up other legitimate businesses if you tax these people , you might find you lose jobs ... you'd be better off getting the government to spend what they do collect more wisely |

It clearly isn't something that can be done on the back of an envelope, but should be a direction of travel in my view.
I will leave it there as we are nowhere near the topic. |

I really could not tell you mate. One thing i do know is that the r6 is more track focused but the CBR is a sports tourer but closer to sport than touring if you get what i mean. Mine essentially is a hornet with fairings on tho as its the 2011 model fab. Its good for me tho as its quite forgiving as its my first newish bike!

So, slightly back in to the OP topic. I sent my local dealer an email today with an effective letter of intent for one of these.
http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Secret-...man-yet-spied/ I really miss my Cayman S Black Editon and this just sounds to epic to miss out on, details are being revealed in Feb 2015. When I get back from work travels I will try and get a deposit down. I think this will be an awesome car to compliment the 330d touring!! GBR1 Last edited by GBR1; 10-29-2014 at 04:02 AM.. |

Timely thread.
I've just bought this . Officially my second mid life crisis after the 911 I had before the 330D Light, RWD, not a lot of torque or power, not nearly as fast as the 330D... No ABS, no servo on the brakes, no traction control, no power steering. But by gum is it a LOT of fun. |
