335d suspension upgrade options
So i am back in a 335d, but ad it is at 50k i think a complete refresh is in order not just springs.
My question is.. has anyone upgraded their suspension but kept adaptive? Any suggestions? |

Depends on what you want to use the car for I guess - you obviously have to manually adjust the non adaptives. It's great to drive the car in comfort mode and when you hit the sport button you know it's going to stiffen up.

Just get yourself a set of Eibach Pro's & fit them with B6 damptronics.
Miles cheaper than the B16 damptronic setup.

I had acs springs and Bilstein b8 super flat handling amazing grip on michelin ps4 but couldn't handle the harsh ride so sold the car.
If you love comfort and are satisfied but want a refresh why not consider just putting in new adaptive oem(ish) dampers. |

Thanks for the replies guys.. I definitely want it lower.. So a matched up set of springs and dampers will achieve that but only at a set height.. Ive heard the eibach are hardly any lower on the front...

B12 pro kits are meant to be fairly comfortable but improve the ride a good deal. The b14s have much higher spring rates than the b12.
Kw street comfort seem to get positive reviews as well but are more expensive. If I do it I think I’ll get rid of adaptive and code it out |

The Birds set up is very good, probably slightly firmer than the ACS sports suspension I have now, which uses the same Bilstein dampers, but valved for the springs that Birds and ACS sell respectively, but they don't lower it much at all.

I’ve done a couple of suspension mods on my 335xd to tidy up the boat feel.
Currently running the B6 damptronics on Acs springs and I find them way better than standard . The ride is a bit firmer but less so than our other M140, cornering and general handling is way better. The car feels much more planted and solid with the floating gone. I’ve also gone for the M140 rear arb, front strut brace and f31 rear underbody brace as well but the dampers made the biggest difference. I can’t comment on standard springs mind as I had the ACS from new. Forgot to mention getting an alignment done to the modified spec also made a big difference.

Doesn’t matter who you get them from , they simply act as an intermediary for Bilstein who ship direct to you.

Are you keeping the original springs or going lower?
If lowering may I suggest changing the bumpstops to the F80 M3 version. They’re a little bit shorter and you don’t hit them so often. Changed mine at the same time - they were shot. Felt like an improvement.

That's if you can get the B6s now; they all tend to be B8s and those with Eibach pro kit springs would be the B12 kit From the latest posts re damptronic shocks, a lot seem to be out of stock everywhere, so folk have been fitting standard and coding out the EDC function
