It works perfectly and alot easier to calculate Alpina EGS flash for newer models, especially LCI 2016-on.

No need to change any production dates as with 3E51, and just use your own istep shipment from 2016 and viola!!

On a side note, I see Alpina DME is also available to flash. Same hardware & bootloader just the different SWFL.. Im tempted to see the increase to 350HP..
It's great that you found out.
In other forums, some users also said that the DME could also be flashed, but I don't think anyone ever did. Or no one has ever written what changes as a result.
But maybe you want to try it.
350PS - yes that would be nice.

Does anyone know what is the typeschlussel for Alpina EGS on an 640D 2016 ( F06)

The XA71 does not work! I tried all possible production dates and istep and I cannot get it to load.

Also does anyone know if SWFL.xx210B is the same for all Alpina EGS models? As in D3 and D5

Thanks

Just seen this any the newer model is there any reason or benefit to re flashing with Type Code: 8K72 ( in conjunction with 9XA & 920 Alpina Package code) if flashed previously with 3E51.

There's no reason to flash it with the newer type code.
There will be no difference.

No, I never tried the DME. I heard you need an FSC code for that and could render your ecu inoperative..

8K72 works fine with LCI models, theres no need to change any dates, etc

After all, this is only for simplicity of flashing. All Alpina EGS software will be using identical firmware for all models across the f3x range

Thanks Xpro for finding out the type code for LCI models. I was trying to flash my mates car (2016 f31 lci) and I was having the same experience as you - all modules in blue and SVT calculation not working.

I'll update my original guide too.

For anyone contemplating the alpina DDE update: the alpina turbo arrangement is 2 turbos running in parallel, 3 cylinders per bank. Rather than the sequential setup in the 335d. For this reason alone I wouldn't want the alpina DDE update.
