I need an H&K Amp

Hey fellow Bimmer owners/enthusiasts. My wife fried my amp a couple days ago and before I drop a hard k on one I thought I’d see if anyone on here had one. I have the H&K stereo amp part number is 65129343766. Apparently these were discounted but not really. BMW just changed the part numbers so 65129366164 and 65129393185 will also work as they are the same from everything I’ve read. If anyone has one let me know. I’m really not wanting to spend $1000 on a new a new factory amp.

How did she fry it? With the protection built into amps it's not easy.

Real question is "Does the OP's wife know he just tossed her under the bus for something she probably didn't do?"

She put a gallon of water in the cubby above the amp and it had a leak in the bottom. Flooded where the amp is mounted. I was driving my truck for work. When I got home I went to the gym and the speakers no workie. I’m kinda mad but it was an accident soooo, what are you gonna do? Fix it and move on.

Ok, fine... that will do it. Sucks, and yup, fix and move on....

Any aftermarket alternatives that plug in? It's not like the H&K is that spectacular of a sound system.

There are plug and play options for the base bmw system but not the H&K because of the fiber optic data system.

There are some on ebay ranging from $600-$700, which is kinda crazy. You'd better check against realoem that they even listed it as the correct application.

The base system is not sold in the US. The plug and play amps made for use with the hi-fi system may be used in the H-K system, as the head units are the same, but it does require coding the HU. Someone who did so would be a good source for a used H-K amp. You should post in the audio section, where you're more likely to get a response.

I sent you a PM. I totally upgraded my sound system and my factory HK amp is still bolted in my car but totally bypassed. I can remove it and send it to you. I don't know what they are selling for used, but just make me an offer and I'll figure out how it comes out and send it to you Priority Mail. I also have some of the HK speakers I replaced, and should have the underseat subs too.

If you already found a replacement, if anyone else wants it let me know, since I no longer have any use for it.

I still have it. I cannot reply to your private message, maybe it's something with your settings or most likely because you're new. Just PM me your email address and we can work it out.

Hi there -

I have a similar issue, my HK Amp on my 320d XDrive (2015) is fried due to water damage..

The Real OEM part number is 65129393185.

I can get a 2nd hand 65129366164 HK amp - realOEM says it is Exchangeable retrospectively - so I would be replacing a newer part (185) with an older one (164) albeit the one directly before it?

Does anyone know if a direct replacement, without needing coding etc would work with the above swap?

Many thanks in advance

That only means the bots have been spamming him for two years, and will continue to do so as long as his address is posted. It's not like leaving your front door unlocked, it's like leaving it wide open.
