Thoughts on a Bloomberg swoop?

Saw on the news last night he's again thinking about running. What do you say? I have to believe that most democrats are cringing because of the current race to the far left. And I think there are plenty of republicans that would jump at the chance of having someone more presidential in the white house.

I think he'd have a pretty good shot.

I think Bloomberg is going to be too worried about people asking for his taxes, buisness dealings, etc... His life seems pretty "normal" right now, not sure why he would want politicians and the media to drag his name through the mud.

I beleive after Trump, every non politician is going to think really hard if they really want to go through that. I am sure all those people that thought it would be cool before Trump (Cuban, Oprah, etc.), are probably now saying to themselves "no way in hell".

He was already in politics, serving as NYC Mayor for three terms. I think he'd be the poster boy. Although he lacks charisma, he's a straight forward no nonsense guy. Other than flip flopping on party affiliations....

I think he bowed out last time as he didn't feel he had a chance and would probably be just an upset. Now though?

Great thought and I think it would throw a spanner in the works. He is a serious candidate, could pull from both Ds and Rs while being an outsider enough, nationally to pull small "L" libertarians.

Put a poll up!!

How are you today?

Nope, no where near popular enough to matter. New Yorkers don't even like him.

Very true, and that did slip my mind. But no one really cares about your foreign investments as mayor. Bloomberg has more foreign investments, or at least bigger foreign investments than Trump. Every time Trump deals with a foreign country the media and his opponents insinuate that he is only looking out for his investments. Why would it be any different with bloomberg?

I'm well! Thanks for asking.

I'm working from home until my first meeting at 11.

Maybe it wouldn't be different, but it might. I just think they hate Trump so much and need a viable candidate. I'm no Trump lover, I think he's crude and should step way from the damn twitter and shut up. BUT I can't see any of the current democrats winning in the general election. They're too out there for middle of the road people.

I agree that bloomberg could be a good option, and depending on his policies, I could see voting for him. At this point, I just find it hard to believe he would actually put himself through that. Then again, he is probably a better person than myself, I know if I were in his position I would stay the hell away.

If people are impressed by Trump and his wealth and business acumen, they'll have a heart attack when they get a load of Bloomberg. His wealth (30+ billion, self made) dwarfs Trump.

New Yorker here who lived under his black cloud of governance and I despise granny Bloomberg and the rules he tries to force down citizens throats. No big soda, no salt, gun grabber extreme and if he takes the whitehouse I expect him to try and impose mandatory go to bed times for all, how much we can eat, what clothes are appropriate ......
Lifelong R here and it’s safe to say there’s not a chance in hell I’ll be voting for him.

The people who support trump because they think he is a successful businessman will have to vote for Bloomberg. He's over 10x wealthier than Trump, and self made.

I didn't like his tenure in NYC and wouldn't support him against Trump. Now in the DNC primary he will be one of two other that i could tolerate.

This. I'm certainly open to voting for someone else, but no one on the current stage has a chance at my vote and Bloomberg would not either. People call Trump a wanna be dictator, but this guy has already tried it with his nannystate tactics.

He's not for me, but as much as I dislike him I have to admit that he at least seems semi-sane compared to the circus I have seen on stage so far. I don' think any real conservatives would go to him, but he might get some center folks who view the left as too far left these days.

I still feel he is too far left for a lot of conservatives however. I can hear the soda law being thrown in his face every 5 minutes.
