For those with BM3 w/ B46 or B48

I recently installed Stage 1 OTS map from BM3 on my 18 430i about a month or so ago. Not long after I added the BMS billet intake to my car.

Has anybody with this setup felt poor throttle response/lag/hesitation at low speeds? The mid/upper is fine but I felt that the stock map was much better around city driving where I live.

I have been in contact with protuningfreaks working on this but I just saw on this forum that they recommend stock intake?

For the hell of it I just flashed back to stock today to see if it would make a difference, and the throttle response is noticeably improved. Could the intake be messing with the tune that much?

Any feedback would be much appreciated. I don't want to have spent money on this tune for the daily drivability around town to go to shit.

I have a 2017 F31 with the B46 engine. Originally, I was running BM3 stage 1 with the same intake. I don't recall having these issues you describe.

I assume you are running the proper octane for the tune? How many miles have you driven with the tune? Any difference in Comfort vs Sport vs Sport+?

Yes Im on 93 octane map and that's the only fuel I've used on the car. There is not much difference between different drive modes at low gear/speed. When I accelerate its like nothing happens for half a second and then it slowly starts to pick up and then boom its off.

I'm running NGK 94201 plugs that I just did at stock gap. I don't see how the stock tune would be more responsive then this ots map/test map they made me. Also car has 39k miles, I've had the tune for probably 1000 miles

No issues here at all. Maybe log it and email them? Maybe you have a leak

If I had a leak then I would assume going back to stock map I would still have this issue.

I agree that it is unlikely a boost leak, for the reasons you deduced.

If you haven't, reflash to the Stage 1 map again. If it is still sluggish, manually reset the throttle body adaptation. It's supposed to do it automatically with a new flash.

Yes I was questioning whether its fuel related or an issue with MAF or throttle body, do these throttle bodies need to be cleaned as part of maintenance? I'm going to reset the adaptations as you mentioned and see if it helps. BM3 already made me another map I have to test.
