Just hit 100k! For her milestones, Im doing a couple minor mods(black grills, black mirror cover, front splitter, lci radio trim, replace walnut trim with hex aluminum) and will do some maintenance(flushing trans, oil change, brakes fluid). I'm also looking for a tune, is Stage 1 from mission performance a good choice for N47?

Congrats! I have heard good things about mission tuning. Pretty sure there is a long post from them on this forum. Post some pics of her once you complete your mods!

Do you have the receipts from both? Care to compare the part numbers of the transfer cases for differences?

My F31 now has 188,000km (116.8k miles), and the engine appears to be ticking along nicely and the transmission is absolutely fine.

I do however have a shudder problem with my steering but that appears to be my brakes....currently in the garage....

Hello

I am about to buy a 2014 328d xdrive with 90k miles. It drives nice but after reading a few posts I am concerned about the transfer case issue. Any advise on how to keep this problem from occurring?

thank you in advance

It's a defect in the spline. Can't keep it from happening. Set money aside for replacement or don't buy it.

The good news is that it looks like the replacement has dropped significantly in price.

Just stumbled upon this forum I started a while back.

Update on the car: Now has over 130k miles. At around 115k, one of the main control computers failed and set us back around $2k. Other than that, it has been driving fine.

What was the symptom to the issue you faced?

Just hit 100k. I started a thread for maintenance at 100k for people to chime in on to help the group. I'm current reviewing the Bentley book to add to it as well instead of hear say.

100k been driving perfectly

When my 2014 320i hits 100k, Im going to buy a 328d. Retirement is only 6yrs away. You know my only question is , Why BMW doesn't offer the 320d in America? As i would prefer just the basic model..

The 328d *IS* a 320d (with a couple upgrades for hot weather, etc.) BMW decided it needed to re-badge it to better compete with the 328i nameplate.

Been recently looking at 328d wagons as my next car. And so far I can tell 2015+ cars are apparently the ones to get. No major issues on the internet reported. Seems like the transfer case issues and nox sensor issues had been resolved for the 2015 and newer years. Am I correct with this assumption?

The NOx sensor and transfer case equipped on 2015+ are the same part numbers as the earlier ones.

On 6/20/16 an updated part number NOx sensor was released for sale, but that doesn't mean they started equipping it on the cars right then.

Transfer cases of all part numbers have seen failures on cars that have multiple failures.

Not enough clear data out there to make an assumption about these two parts.
