Production Date meaning

Hello, I'm waiting for a 320i that apparently will get on the 2nd week of 2018 and I've checked my VIN number at bimmer.work website and 3 days ago the "Production date" was 0001-01-01, now I'm checking again and it says 2017-12-15.

Does anyone knows what exactly does that date means? Is the car ready only waiting for shipment to Spain? or it only has begun to assembly?

Thanks

The production date for a BMW is the date it was completed at the factory. From that date on, everything is transport, shipping and dealer prep. Three to four weeks from completion seem right given the holidays and shipping to Spain.

Enjoy your new car!!!

That's because it wasn't done yet.
