Custom laser cut alcantara trims

Thought I'd share some custom alcantara work I've been doing lately on F3x and E90 trims

Thanks! I use an aggressive high temp contact adhesive (don't bother with sprays or carpet sprays, they web up in clumps and show behind thin material). Once it's all laid down but not fully cured I pull each section tort before hot welding the fabric to the trim on the back - alcantara contains plastic so it makes this part easier and keeps everything in place.

Yeah I make them, mainly based on your current trim though which I know can be tricky for people outside of the UK, however I can also buy in a spare trim for you if prefer or even send you the fabric finished; just not stuck down.

I have a complete set of instructions on how to take apart your trims, adhere the fabric and reconstruct if people decide to go down that route.

Unfortunately not, I did actually do it on my own idrive trim, however without an industrial upholstery machine the stitch gap is tiny, also the "hobby" style double needles don't really work that great, so the second line of the double stitch doesn't always perfectly match when you do it with a single needle.

My solution was to find a seamstress / upholstery repair shop that I could give £30 to run a couple of lines of stitching for me

How much would it been for a full interior (dash, centre console and door handles) for an F30? Really like the look of this

I do the laser cutting myself, I got tired of travelling to the one place that was willing to do these kinds of jobs for me so I bought a machine myself.

Are you trying to do something similar to this?
