Upgrade from ID4

Hi bimmers,

I have been researching a little but haven't been able to find answer to my questions.

I have a F33 from April 2016 that has an iDrive 4 unit. I am a little puzzled / upset... I thought that by this time my car should have got an iDrive 5 already... Anyone knows when they started putting iDrive 5 on F3x?

Now, whats done is done... but is it possible to upgrade?

I have read that iDrive 4 comes in an older multimedia unit and that for iDrive 5 to work... or better... an iDrive 6 I need a newer unit.

The question is. Can I upgrade the hardware? Can anyone help me find vendors that do this upgrade?
