2013 328i, passenger seat power seat switch, won't move forward anymore. Been on and off since new, finally crapped out. Sucks since the kid seat is behind the driver and no one can fit behind the passenger.

I love my F30 - just have the steering wheel vibration issue and cannot seem to get it fixed. Going through the process of a buy back or trade-in, not sure yet.

What do you guys think? F30 +3 problems

In February I got a F30 from a local dealer in Germany with 27k km; (construction date : august 2012). Car runs as it should, a decent 320D. Given that the warranty will expire in a month, I decided to note down all faults and go to the dealer solve them out.

-rust under seats
-rust on some brake disks, not on others
-rust on some parts under the car
-front sensor beeps without reason, no object in front (to the point it confused me and had me actually hit a small pole when backing up, but eh that's my fault)
-a bit of varnish paint went off the front bumper after carwash

Another doubt which I had no time to verify, I just guess that I am not understanding it correctly: in the unconventional menu (trip button hold for 10 sec) after selecting "identification", conv. index shows a different number of KM than the 39k I currently have.

So what do you guys think? bmw should cover seats, front bumper pealed varnish and defective parking sensor. Not sure about the rusty bolts underneath the car. Are there any other things you know I should check? things that warranty covers and are known to be faulty? I atatched reference pics:

The sensor they should replace with no swabble. The clear coat looks like the front bumper might have been repaired at some point. Of course it is hard to tell from the picture. If that is a factory defect though i would suspect they will have to fix it.

Had this happen last week, screen would operate normally but the gear indicator wouldn't appear. Then when switching between driving modes, the outline of the 4 modes would have a weird blue background behind them.

All other text (seatbelt off, door open, etc.) would display on screen as normal. Parked the car, got groceries, and came back out to everything working fine.

Nowhere near as bad as this BMW sh*t.

This F30 is the worst car I've owned for quality control, poor components or bad design in over 20 years. I won't be having another.

Oh and by the way, my new steering rack didn't cure the knocking noise when going over a bump in the road - clearly then the car is just a bad design.

I had some brake squeal moving off from a stop that turned out to require replacing a couple small brackets. Prior to that, my aux cooling fan on the coolant radiator side was defective and had to be replaced. Aside from that, zero problems. Best 3-series out of the 4 I've owned.

I'm happy to say no real problems after 16,700 miles! It seems you have to stay on top of maintenance though: oil seems to need topping off relatively frequently (I believe hot temps from turbo cause oil to burn quicker), TPMS light comes on every once in awhile and have to put 1-3psi in (TPMS is way too sensitive to change in all cars IMO, damn govt regulations), and I needed to top of coolant level around 15,000 miles. Other than that it's been very solid, excellent car. Still feels almost new, but like I said I stay on top of it and the car is detailed once a week. Best of luck!

Edit: I should have mentioned it's a 335i MSport, 19in MSport wheels, 8at sport

Within the first moments of ownership, noticed a faint burning smell, thought nothing of it. Next day look under my car and there was a puddle under my rear diff. The right axle seal was leaking all over my exhaust and driveway. Within 3 days of purchase It was back at the dealer for another 4 days. Still love the car, but not a good start.

Car with 100 miles got muted. Replaced amplifier, it worked some time and muted again. BMW oriented my dealer to keep searching for broken or bent wire. Problem stopped, but not confident. Kind of worried after seeing so many issues.

I have a 2014 335 with 9k miles and just had the turbocharger replaced. I got the "drivetrain malfunction" warning, and brought it in to the dealer. The car sat for a week while the engineers and the dealership decided whether it needed a new turbo. Had a loaner car for the week but was disappointed with the time it took. I don't drive the car hard, just daily commute to work.

Is it normal for a 2012 F30 to have this rust on the exhaust?

looked under the car and noticed a rusted exhaust support. Is it just cosmetical or can it pose any dangers? wouldn't expect this from a 55k euro limousine.

They solved the sensor issue: the number plate was mounted on a thick buffer, thus the sensors would pick up the numberplate's trepidations . . . after mounting the plate support directly to the bumper, the problem was solved. I am still surprised by all the rust issues though. They say it's normal...

My dad's has been in the dealership 20+ times for the past 2 years. It has a new warning come up every day for about a week or two after an oil change and BMW cannot figure it out. I'll see if I can find the records to share with you guys.
