Harman Kardon retrofit

Hi all,
I did a Harman Retrofit with all cables from a donor. Connected everthing on quad lock, added 674 to FA and coded NBT evo and FEM.

I got a ASD from donor also. Everthing looks good. Although I could not see that option to do fine tunning at idrive and I feel the rear speakers lower then front.

Can you tell me if there is something that I can do for the menu and check if there is something wrong with rear speakers?

If you retrofitted the correct Amplifier with most bus, you coded the wrong SA.

SA688 is Harman Kardon in F3x. Also you have to safe most bus config with Ista.

Hi Ivan. I have a question for you. I also completed Hi-Fi (676) to HK (688) Retrofit. I removed 676 and added 688 to FA. I also coded NBT evo. Now I am seeing following fault: AMPT: Control unit not coded for the vehicle. Is this because I also need to code FEM module? (see screen-shot)

I am still seeing AMPT: Control unit is not coded for the vehicle. I deleted hifi (646) and added HK 688 to the SA. I have re-coded NBT module. Are there any other modules that require re-coding in order to get rid of this fault? What are all the modules that need to be re-coded after amp swap and Vehicle Order changed? System seems to be working fine, no apparent issues observed other than a fault code.

Ista gives you the answer. You retrofitted a new AMP to your car, but you only coded the Head Unit. You also have to code the AMP itself. The Harman AMP act as a ECU in your car. After the retrofit there must be one more ecu in Esys called TOPHB(for the old Harman amp) or AMPT (for the newer Harman amp)

If you want to do you a favour, code the complete car with the FA with SA688 because there are some more ecus that need to know that you have now Harman instead of Hifi System.

Thank you so much for your answer and suggestion. I prefer not to re-code the whole car, as that may be dangerous. I will re-code AMPT. Are there any other ECU's that you know specifically have a relation to the SA688 HK AMP? I have the newer AMPT HK amp installed. Donor car was 2014 BMW 335i.

What are all the ECUs that should be re-coded after 646 to 688 Vehicle Order change? NBT-HU, AMPT, any other ECUs?

thank you. I take it that FEM module has no relation to the new HK AMP?

Yes, i think FEM has no relation to the HK Amp.
But it is very important to code the AMPT itself.
Does everything work and there is only this error message or does the Amp not work?

Everything is working great. No apparent issues observed. Amp is definitely working and EQ can be adjusted through head unit settings. The only issue that I am seeing is that error message in the attached screen-shot. I will re-code AMPT module and remaining modules that you have recommended this weekend. I really do not want to re-code ALL modules in the car for two reasons: 1.) time-consuming procedure, 2.) sounds a bit dangerous to me . Thank you for your input on this issue.

I really do not want to re-code the whole vehicle if it is not necessary.

Angry Code option is not available for AMPT module

So, here is what I have done. Re-coded following modules with 688 in VO: KOMBI, FEM, DSC, NBT-HU.

I attempted to re-code AMPT module, since it is working like a champ but giving me AMPT: Control unit is not coded for the vehicle. Is there anything else that I need to do to this AMP in order for me to be able to re-code it? Do I need to flash anything? See attached images. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

I am still unable to properly re-code AMPT control unit for now. I was suggested to install E-Sys Launcher Premium V2.0. In order to install it on my Windows PC, I have to upgrade memory to 4GB. Ordered more memory, waiting to arrive. Once I complete re-coding AMPT module I will reply back to this post. For now, the only issue that I am seeing is a fault code message stating that my AMPT control unit is not coded for my car. Everything else is working great. 600W HK AMP is sounding better than I expected. No regrets at this point.

You have to write new AMPT unit to VCM.

If AMPT dont work, you have another problem as the guy above... His amplifier was working but he got error message because he has the wrong Harman amplifier for his vehicle manufacture date.

Recode ESYS

igorbmwx6 I have recoded my NBT_HU. I can't see any AMPT ECU in my list. Do you know why?

Do I also need ISTA+ to do this Harman Retrofit?
