Anything new on the charge pipe? I am guessing they don't add much performance or I would think several would be out by now?

Chargepipes don't really do anything for performance. They're just good if you do methanol injection and if your running high boost so it doesn't blow up.

Stock ones are plastic. I haven't heard of anyone breaking one yet though. I'm personally running mine at 21PSI with a WMI kit and have yet to have any issues. I wish VRSF released theirs sooner so I didn't have to get the throttlebody spacer.

Bumping an old thread back, but is the consensus still that no charge pipe is required for stock/stage 1 bm3?

I'm pretty sure the B58 chargepipe is pretty solid. I don't know what it's rated at, but the B58 has the intake manifold and intercooler all integrated together so there's little to no flex in the chargepipe when under throttle.

The N54 and N54 weren't integrated so when the engine vibrated, there was significantly enough flex along with the boost pressures which caused those chargepipes to fail.

That's what my local shop guy told me and actually recommended I return the chargepipe I ordered for my B58 to save some cash.

Then again, different story if you're running meth

Still a waste if you're running meth because of uneven cylinder distribution. Better off going port meth. But now with DS2.5, fuel cams, and bigger injectors, we'll see PI not be as popular.

Seems like more of an aesthetic mod at this point (if you get one that's not black) or an expensive and time consuming way to get a meth injection bung.
