Does it have to 2 or 4 seats? What about the Maserati Gran Cabrio?
Glorious V8 noise and gorgeous looks would make it an even every time. Only issue would be that your 335d would probably be faster!

Porsche 911 Turbo (997) for me. It really is an everyday super car; happy at track days or shopping....

997 gen2 turbo cab would be my choice for reasonable depreciation.
Or one of these if the depreciation wasn't an issue... http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...-849pm/2424454 |

Have tried the V6 Cup version and was rather impressed. BUT, I've done nearly 200k miles in Elise/Exige/340r's so it's time for something else.. £60k is a LOT of dosh for a Lotus, however good it is. 997 Gen 2 Turbo Cab is a good'un. Lot of reliable car for your dosh.

I had 2 s1 Elise's myself. Just the standard rover engines though, hated them(the engines). I always hankered after a type r engine in one |

Still have the first S1 190 Sport ever made all back to 'as came out of factory' condition with 235bhp Scholar engine. Don't really want to sell it but it's just too valuable to use now.

Roughly how much is your s1 worth now if you don't mind me asking? I had one of the first, then later my wife and I got one of the last, the type 79 black and gold jobbie. Only supposedly 50 made but I doubt it really makes any difference to the value now. |

Lotus books as was shown at shows and used for promo. Kind of why I don't want to sell it.

My first thought was "don't then" but then I though about your earlier mention of it being too valuable to use. It does put you in quite a position. That sort of car should be used as intended but it would be much more sensible to buy a "not so special" one to do that.
Have you spoken to Lotus direct? It might be nice to let it join their collection perhaps? At least the sale would feel a little justified. |
