No doubt the difference in the US Market may be negligible but one has to remember that the price difference between the 335 and "lower" models is different in various markets... and must take into consideration different taxation regulations on these cars. e.g. In Canada the 328i MSRP is $43,600 and the 335i MSRP is $51,200; that's a $7,600 difference. If you add the %13 tax we have in Ontario the difference becomes ~$8,500.

Really kids are expensive in Germany too? Happy to know I am not alone in my feelings.

Neither N55 or N20 rates in my book and they are separated by about 30whp. I stopped going to most BMW meets years ago. Want to know why? These were young guys, quick to call other people ricers. When I looked at their cars, they had M-Stripes, M badges, tons of LEDs, all kinds of questionable mods on automatic 335's. The things they thought were ricey to be done to old Japanese compacts were the same as them, only with higher prices attached. The "bro" atmosphere and flat brims were a huge turn off. I just don't see an right to elitism over having an 335 vs a 328.

Just watched the vids on the first page and there was a distinct lack of nice noises coming from either car The only "nice" noise was the very last bit of the second vid with the N55 popping on overrun. That was pleasant

I see "riced" up BMWs here all the time. As for current 328i... Sorta can't blame anyone for wanting to upgrade... Stock sounds terrible. |

I have been one of the few to dyno the N20 and seen them on various dyno makes. I have also been around all kinds of dyno days to see N54's and N55's dyno. The N20 has no problem cracking 240whp on a Dynojet: Now, we all know the line about different dynos. Well how about my N20 was on THIS dyno one week ago where it did 214whp. This N55 showed a 9whp gain, so subtract that. That's a pretty good case to prove my point. If you want to get into semantics over different days and weather, fine, that can account for a TINY variation Your numbers would indicate that N55's are doing 300+whp on Dynojets and 275whp on Mustang/Super Flo/Dyno Dynamics which simply is not the case. I never claimed the numbers between N20 and N55 are slight, 30+ whp is substantial, about what we are seeing from a stage 1 tune.

Jameson, you can post videos for proof all you want. Like I said, we can argue numbers at the wheels all day, it is a waste of time, there are too many factors... I only pay attention to power at the crank, it never lies.

Then your last sentence, wow, what a doozy. It has been common for years, especially with forced induction cars to see them underrated from the factory crank ratings. I have had this happen to a couple of cars of mine, my 2.0TSI CC, 2.3T Viggen, and read about it most recently with the Ford GT500. This is a concept that also goes old school and dates back to the muscle car days when HP was tied to insurance so the OEM's low balled HP. Cars rated at 425hp at the crank were often making more like 500+. But hey, whatever. You can believe whatever you want and I am not here to change your mind.

Love this. The same with the setup I purchased for my 335i. This company is awesome. They even have me a guided tour.

It does have a tuner fitment so the factory bumper would need mild trim to fit the 90mm tips.
