B58 Engine: please post your experience, including problems / resolutions

I am having this issue too. I shifted into drive real fast after starting and tried to move the car too soon one time it did this and it actually stalled out. After the stall it took 4 attempts to restart the engine. It kept starting, over revving up to about 1500rpm and then completely stalling out. At that point it had about 1000 mi on it, I have never had a modern car or even seen a modern car stall like that. My Dad's MGB stalls sometimes, but its 50 years old and carbureted.

I brought it to the dealer and of course they couldnt reproduce it and there were no faults stored. I feel a little better seeing that others are having the same problem. I was worried I got a lemon.

So the squeeky door seal issue seems to be a standard 'feature' on this car then! Possibly wouldn't bother me unless it's REALLY loud! I had this on a Scirocco, a Golf & my last F30 (so my last 3 cars) but only when the car was flexing over uneven ground and only while the cars were very new (and squeaky clean!!)

...... wasn't half as bad as the crackles & pops that my F30 centre stack would randomly produce (moreso in winter)

If it's the only issue I experience when my car arrives I'll be fairly content I reckon (as there seem to be numerous easy fixes)

Bought it February 6, 2016. My office is 30 Miles away. 60 Miles a day every day lol.
I've also went to Bimmerfest 2016 in NJ that was 400+ miles total. 20K and no issues at all.

12k miles - no issues. Had the free oil change at 10k miles and paid for one at 5k miles. No issues brought up by dealer. Still get the impression that I'm the only 6MT 340i owner in the area...

There was only one 6MT available in CT (which I picked up). The next closest one was somewhere deep in to PA.

About three weeks ago I hit a decent sized pothole and got this error message. I drove the car home, shut it off, waited about 10 minutes? turned the car back on and the message was gone. Then today driving out of a shopping center gave the car gas in sport mode with manual shifting and the error message reappeared. Same thing, turned the car off and waited 10 mins, message was gone.

Mpe
Bms intake

Anyone else experience this problem? I don't know what to do.

There was another guy who just posted about this. He had an issue in the DME and the dealer fixed it. Your problem may have come from hitting the pothole and maybe not but in either case the dealer is probably your best bet. How the the suspension feel? Anything different or out of place?

I think it may feel a little off, but it may all be in my head. I'm hesitant to run to the dealer because of the mods on the car. Would you be able to point me in the right direction to find the other thread?

It happens when I give it too much gas from a low mph

I really don't know what route to take. I started to think maybe the cars recognizing that its accelerating at a faster rate then stock... who knows. We will have to keep in touch in case one of us takes the car in for service.

Getting a click click sound on hard acceleration in 1st & 2nd gear. As well as this some clicks when turning full lock when parking etc

Car only has 1500 miles on it

Not really sure whats up, anyone else experiencing this?

I have a rattle on coldstart the lasts about 1 to 4 seconds. Sounds like a heatshield rattling or something. Anyone else have this issue?

Dealer was unable to replicate because they didn't truly start it cold.

rattle or engine shake? I was told by the BMW dealer in Munich that engine shake sometimes on cold start is normal.

The hesitation of throttle after cold starts is a software bug. My car's software was updated a few weeks ago and no hesitation since.

Mine is at 6000km now. One issue I am having is, engine tapping noise when accelerate under low rev. Noise is from somewhere near footwell but definitely from engine bay. This noise is possibly occurring in other circumstances but I can't it. People say this noise is from injectors, haven't brought back to dealer and had a check. No other issues
